It seems to me that if Bolt Thrower was a related role, it would be one that is targeted at someone rather than activated on oneself. Could it be the case that someone threw a bolt at foodcoats that made him attract the rest of the actions, or is that too far fetched? Why are people calling this role Bolt Thrower?

At this time I would still like to szee Fox as a viable counterwagon. If there is no movement I will consolidate closer to EoD, likely to Bismarck.

The developments since I went to sleep have not really developments, aside from the whole foodcoats being in on the secret now.

I will say this, I've seen some musings of people suggesting that this whole secret QT is actually the 3rd faction. If it is, shouldn't Chaqa be in your discussions for a lynch?

If it is a 3rd faction, emc is a member, so lynching him confirms or disconfirms that hypothesis among other things. Lynching Chaqa is less informative.

In my case, he is suspicious and scared scum!me is fooling him. Here its just "oh he's lurking, thatll be my reason".

In regards to brain's reads, I'd be lenient and give the fox/vec benefit of null until closer to EoD. Not really sure about kgray, would need rereading.

Since as a new player, I found it rather difficult to link actions/scumreads, and it was a lot easier to just look at other people's reads and play pattern recognition.

Granted it was a bit different in my case, but it feels similar enough.

But fair enough, I agree about pattern recognition being easy/natural to focus on. I certainly did that my first game, and probably still do too much. But, I think this is something that's pretty easy to notice as scum, just as much as town, so I think it's NAI from Bismarck.

You really have it in for me, kgray. I understand it if it's just because I am seen as "lurking". I certainly am not. And there's a lot of people here that simply make 1 liners in response to other nonsense and fill the pages of the thread. English is my second language, so reading the thread is slow, and this game has generated a whole lot of thread more than my other experience with the likes of Jamiet, Bomb, Fox, Flash, Damo, Vecna, and so on. I pick my targets carefully - I ask them questions after analysing their contributions. I try to work out scum. I don't assume that lurking is scummy - much the same as I don't assume that verbosity and page-filling with Walls means you are Town. And I can confirm that I have a Town role on this island. Sure, a minor role, but a Town role nonetheless.

Bismarck is an odd one. His posts dont feel as scummy anymore as his first one, but it still could be the case. Also note, that brainbomb was scumreading him, but he NO LONGER IS and he again did not make ANY MENTION AS TO WHY.

Hmm...That indeed looks like a crumb for Bolt Thrower more than for Lightning Rod.

Also, it was posted during the night, not D1.

I'd say it's at least weird.

If the role throws the lightning rod to some player, and Mafia has that role, it would make sense to throw it to one of their own, counting on there being a protective role in play that would save them, or maybe even having a protective role of their own.

I wasn't reading it as a scumslip, I wanted to hear what his answer was, how comfortable or unfomfortable he was with it, etc. You ruined it a bit.

So here is my case against EMC summarised as succinctly as I can:

For me that's the main reason, it pretty much tells us Donny's alignment (which I think was scum, but I can't be 100% sure of course).

Town EMC, telling the truth about being a Universal Backup who replaced Town Tracker Donny, would not ask this question[u/].

There are only two possible conclusions:

1. EMC's claim that he is Universal Backup who replaced Town Tracker Donny is a lie,

and/or:

2. EMC is not Town.

It is possible that 1 and 2 could both be correct. It is also possible that 1 is true on its own and EMC is Town but for some reason everything he has said so far is a lie. I cannot see the sense in that so I conclude that EMC is lying, and is not Town, and we must lynch him.
