Well that reminded me of my first...something else.

I'm trying to keep up on researching roles.

Assuming the janitor role is limited and Donny wasn't the janitor.
Which situations would make using this ability worth it right now?
Was thinking. If you had one shot of janitor, isn't it always best to use it day 1 to maintain as much confusion as possible for as long as possible?
Yes! Donny's alignment is still a Schroedinger alignment. Sadly we don't glean anything from his death. Well played, scum.

I think it makes the most sense that Donny was scum. The Janitor power is usually deployed on the NK, and they generally only have one or two uses (usually only one, I think?). This is very speculative, but my guess is that the Janitor saw Donny going down hard, noticed (or it was pointed out by the secretary) that the role PM did not specify that it had to be used during the night phase, and decided to try to salvage the situation.
It's really just WIFOM. We don't get a lot of info from Donny's death unless we get speculative, and then we're potentially being misled by scum who know what Donny really was and can manipulate the situation as they like.

I don't like that you're telling us Donny's alignment. We don't know it and we shouldn't really even bother to think too hard on it or draw correlations. We should continue to evaluate other players based on their actions, not their relationship to Donny.
Agree with the first part but not with the second.

We cam still use interactions with Donny to draw correlations and to gather elements to a read. Don't see why discard this totally is a good move. Not base your reads only on Donny being sure scum, but we can't deny he was the scummy guy around D1.

Yeah but the amount of work people have done overnight to build scumreads out of Donny suggests scum manipulation already.

See who gets NK'd first.

I'm not insisting Donny was scum. Obviously we don't know for sure. I'm saying that I think he was. We can't just put Donny and Day 1 in a box labeled "no obvious answers here."

Are there specific places you see scum manipulation?

This is still extremely weird to me. It's not the typical self-vote of someone frustrated because under pressure, because nobody was really pushing him and there was a single vote on him at the time (Neph), with several wagons at 3 or 4. It made no sense then and I can't make any sense of it now.
Maybe he resurects
That could be an explanation, but if so why force it and waste it on D1? Even if it only works for lynches and not NKs, only a very paranoid newbie could imagine there was any chance of him being NKd.
Maybe actionable at any time? He could've actioned it when in trouble. All very unlikely but just a thought.

What does pete bot do?
It's a bot.
It tracks votes, keeps track of votes, searches through the text of the room and finds every example of bozo saying, "HERE is a good mechanical plan!" or of Foxy saying, "What does mechanical mean?" or anything else you want to trace.

And I think i broke it.
Working on it. Hoping a superhero comes and fixes it for me.
Darg telling donny to claim tracker??? openly in thread? not in a qt?

as was posited, perhaps qt hadnt fired up.

it seems overstated for darg to mention track 3 times in this post to donny
I don't think that he was signaling here. You're reading too much into it.

The point is that he was *not* in trouble when he voted for himself.

May not come back on, so in case I die, I'd like to say:

Lynch Fox, Sarah or Chaqa tomorrow.

I think Donny likely was scum and we can say "got one" but I wouldn't recommend building a scum team off of Donny - scum are undoubtedly going to try to steer that conversation. I think Fox is scum and he's good enough to be an imposter townleader.

The commonly used name for it.
The commonly used name for what?
This doesnt deserve an answer
Not a completely irrelevant question, given that encryptor and secretary are not just different names for the exact same role.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. If Donny likely was scum, why would scum steer that conversation? Wouldn't scum be trying to steer it away from that?

And how is Fox being a townleader in any way, shape or form?

Any care to explain why the three of us? Or is this just a way for you to lurk and throw shade?

It's also possible mafia isn't using a Janitor and there is some sort of role that steals a power. I think we had something like that in one of the games we played a long time ago. Like a Mutation or Chameleon or Body Snatcher or something?
A combined power thief/day janitor seems way overpowered for any alignment.
When theyre facing an entire town full of PR's?

I misread Chaqa's post a little bit. But yeah, I'd think it would still be overpowered.

FWIW, I was actually implying a 3P role, not a mafia one.
