Yes, but only if you fakeclaim this specific role, and then keep up your claim for the rest of the game:

I believe I have used Fruit Vendor twice, once as a town role and once as a scum role. As a town role, it's a Named Townie that can confirm its existence so can help create a townclear. As a scum role, its main purpose is to confuse a Watcher or Tracker.brainbomb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 6:15 amDONNY NOTES (even tho its been overtalked about)
crumbs fruit vendor.
Donny Dude
Day-1 47:35

FRUIT VENDOR
You are the FRUIT VENDOR. Each day you must vote for a suspect. Each night, you may visit another player by PM-ing both GMs with the order ##VISIT . They will recieve a basket of fruit in the morning. At night you can talk to the other Mafia in the Mafia QT at . You win when all of the Town have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.
This is a scum role Jamiet uses in his games.

A combined power thief/day janitor seems way overpowered for any alignment.

There's still something strange. If it's limited, why waste their power on such a lynch? Donny was clearly enough scum in my opinion, so I guess they didn't clean up to confuse us. Probably they didn't want town to understand Donny's power for some reason, or they can clean multiple times. In my opinion it has more sense to think that there's someone who will clean up everything until he's killed. But there's a good chance scum thinks differently, so probably i'm wrong.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:27 pmI think it makes the most sense that Donny was scum. The Janitor power is usually deployed on the NK, and they generally only have one or two uses (usually only one, I think?). This is very speculative, but my guess is that the Janitor saw Donny going down hard, noticed (or it was pointed out by the secretary) that the role PM did not specify that it had to be used during the night phase, and decided to try to salvage the situation.

He has not registered, but it was easy to reread. This sticks out:
How he makes the connection between Donny's rating question and day chat is a mystery.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 11:45 pmI'm not sure how I feel about the 'rate 1-10' facebook knockoff bs. It seems like fishing with extra steps. Either massclaim or don't do shit.
I don't know if that's inherently scummy as a post because he's a newer player. If he is scum I'd almost have to lean that there is a scum role enabling day chat which would suuuuuck.

If he was not the secretary, he would not be able to communicate via QT. He could have been crumbing one of their fake roles for himself rather than telling him to claim it.brainbomb wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 7:02 amDarg telling donny to claim tracker??? openly in thread? not in a qt?dargorygel wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 9:34 pmIt's a bot.

Because I was catching up when I read it, and by the time I finished catching up it had already been said and acted on and I didn't have time to participate.TheMarche wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 7:10 amWhy didn't you point at it? If you thought it was a scumslip, you should have declared it. If Vecna hadn't read that message, Donny could have made it and (as he probably was scum) we would have had an additional scum player to lynch.xorxes wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:13 pmMy first conclusion is that Vecna and kgray are probably not scum with Donny. Both of them noticed and focused on the slip. Could be double bluff bussing especially from Vecna, but I won't really go there.
I noticed the mention of secretary as I was reading and I thought it was a scumslip even before reading anything else, so I have no problem regarding it as such. In fact what I noticed as I was reading is how long it took some people to notice the slip.

If this is a closed setup game with a power that janitors every death until they are found and killed, then this is a deeply broken setup and that game should never be run. I trust Worcej enough as a GM to not do that.TheMarche wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:44 pmThere's still something strange. If it's limited, why waste their power on such a lynch? I think I was 3p only once, it was in a semi-closed setup and I had a role that knew all the roles that were in play.
#1715 Post by xorxes » Thu Apr 30, 2020 1:03 pm
That could be an explanation, but if so why force it and waste it on D1? Even if it only works for lynches and not NKs, only a very paranoid newbie could imagine there was any chance of him being NKd.damo666 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 10:17 amMaybe he resurectsxorxes wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:21 amThis is still extremely weird to me. It's not the typical self-vote of someone frustrated because under pressure, because nobody was really pushing him and there was a single vote on him at the time (Neph), with several wagons at 3 or 4. It made no sense then and I can't make any sense of it now.

It was an obvious move to janitor Donny, regardless of his alignment. I think it's pretty sensible for the scum team to janitor scum-Donny. It does actually create a lot of confusion. At least with the NK, you know that the target was a townie, even if their power was janitored away. The fact that there's a possibility Donny wasn't scum is enough to undermine cases that are built based on his actions/interactions.

It's really just WIFOM. We don't get a lot of info from Donny's death unless we get speculative, and then we're potentially being misled by scum who know what Donny really was and can manipulate the situation as they like.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:27 pmI think it makes the most sense that Donny was scum. Agree with you on this Fox.
