What do you mean by "official role"?
The commonly used name for it.
The commonly used name for what?
Not gonna lie, this is a bit pedantic even for you.

Was just thinking about the whole Donny role speculation.

Who would benefit more from obscuring it with their powers at Donny's lynch? Islanders, or Enemies?

Logic would tell me that us Islanders are worse off, because we can't 100% use all Donny's interactions as sure-tells about Donny's accomplices if he is Enemy, or his Enemies if he was Islander.

So that is why I am leaning to thinking Donny was Enemy. I can't see any reason why an Islander would obscure the lynch target's role - whether Donny was Islander or Enemy, what was important was WHAT HE WAS, not whether he was one or the other.
Hmm, logical but simple. occam's razer or just one dimensional?

Well that reminded me of my first...something else.

I'm trying to keep up on researching roles.

Assuming the janitor role is limited and Donny wasn't the janitor.
Which situations would make using this ability worth it right now?
Was thinking. If you had one shot of janitor, isn't it always best to use it day 1 to maintain as much confusion as possible for as long as possible?

It's also possible mafia isn't using a Janitor and there is some sort of role that steals a power. I think we had something like that in one of the games we played a long time ago. Like a Mutation or Chameleon or Body Snatcher or something?

Novacula Occami of course! "The simplest solution is most likely the right one". When we have competing theories, we should select the solution with fewest assumptions.

I find it always useful trudging through the thread...

So, who defended Donny the strongest and when? That is where we may find Donny's accomplices...

My first conclusion is that Vecna and kgray are probably not scum with Donny. Both of them noticed and focused on the slip. Could be double bluff bussing especially from Vecna, but I won't really go there.

I noticed the mention of secretary as I was reading and I thought it was a scumslip even before reading anything else, so I have no problem regarding it as such. In fact what I noticed as I was reading is how long it took some people to notice the slip.
Vecna could have been getting out ahead of the inevitable discussion about the slip, and Sarah (not kgray) asking about the secretary seems out of place.
What do you mean by "out of place?"

Are you asking if town or mafia would benefit more from Donny's role/alignment not being revealed? That can't be a serious question...

Preventing someone's role/alignment from being revealed when they die is pretty obviously a scum power, right? Or do you (or anyone else) know of any reason why town would have some ability that would do that?

It was one of only a few questions she asked of anyone D1. She also partly answered her own question.

Here are the only question I could find from her:

Summit, if youre so aware of the entire game that you can correct the vote-count, please, comment more with your impressions.

Be active, it doesnt matter if it comes off silly, sharing your thoughts and impressions is key to this game.
Well the coffee is made and I'm catching up here.

Massclaiming:

Against (in one form or another)

Jamie
Brain
Rdrivea
Chaqa
Nephthys (pointed out xor was keen)

For (in one form or another)

Xorxes
Donny
Vecna
Bozo
Fox (claim a role you're not)
Demon (didn't like rating importance, said mass claim or or don't do shit)
Donny (rate role importance)

This isn't accusatory at all and some of these for and againsts are probably neutral. Just thoughts from my notes trying to clarify what happened in that discussion.

I have no idea if massclaiming is ever good. I'd assume you're guaranteed to get more true responses than false responses but how damaging can the false responses be?

Jamie: No idea. Seems like a goof that could do this kind of stuff regardless. Previous meta with Fox?

Brain: Leaning town. Seems like a goof that could do this kind of stuff regardless.

Xorxes: Find them evasive. Investigated bot comment on Donny and that effort makes me lean town.

Donny: Very defensive; could be a natural trait. Seems to respect experience and cares what others have to think about them. Definitely not sold on scum. Found the role importance push strange.

emc: Initial impressions are town

chaqa: curious to find out if they'd +1 every post as a troll. town or 3p

Neph: Lean scum. claimed dargo was under most suspicion and that chaq may be signalling to scumteam. then showed concern that reads were being made too much on meta. doesn't like dargo's post which seemed innocent to me (#432). Pointed out he considered bozo to be best late game player. These things seem to be sowing the seeds of confusion and also perhaps pointing out concerns of his to other scum.

Sarah: Again defensive.. Natural weak lean to scum based on that.

Also joining closed game wasn't the brightest idea. I am growing concerned that mass +1'ing could try to cover up the real +1'ing that is only needed in a few instances.
I find it interesting that you are mass claiming so soon
Also your read on xorces is wierd
What quotes lead you to think that emc is town...
Why do you think Jamie and fox have previous meta?... have u played with them much before?

If Donny Dude was scum, and there is a secretary, it is possible she is his teammate and was trying to distance herself. I certainly would not rule her out for asking about it.

DAMO
Donny test
Testing Donny

EMC is 3p again!

And so is Chaqa. But not again.

Maybe.
How does a 3p faction differ from a scum faction?
↑SarahK24: "Everybody Listen
I am not scum"

Are you 3p?
Donny is definitely flapping but whether that's scumminess or inexperience is moot.

##vote Donny

pants down

NOTES
damo is town
hes happier, his posts are kinda random, talks about 3p alot but it looks like its designed to garner reactions. Im alright with damo this round.

DONNY NOTES (even tho its been overtalked about)

Donny Dude
Day-1 47:35
page 2 / orig Does anybody know what local fruits there are for eating
crumbs fruit vendor.

FRUIT VENDOR
You are the FRUIT VENDOR. Each day you must vote for a suspect. Each night, you may visit another player by PM-ing both GMs with the order ##VISIT . They will recieve a basket of fruit in the morning. At night you can talk to the other Mafia in the Mafia QT at . You win when all of the Town have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.

This is a scum role Jamiet uses in his games.

pages 2 and 3 donny refers to being in a desert. dying of thirst.
I have ran out of things on Netflix to watch, any suggestions?
Just finished watching this strange crime show called sniffer about a guy who uses his sense of smelling to look for criminals. It is a weird show.
Forces everyone into a guessing match with scum closed role they might be forced to scramble
Donny played very reckless and was probably a scum fruit vendor who the scumteam saw as expendable for sowing confusion. fruit vendor is an unhelpful role for scum in some ways.

his play, vecnas catch, and the fact donnys role wasnt ultra important to the team probably meant scum saccrificed him for cred. expect multiple bussers. and yes, likely a list of fake claims.

and yes, definetely a daychat.

so if scum had a fruit vendor they probably have some decent firepower. perhaps a poisoner or an arsonist in addition to regular roleblocker, joat type role. maybe a strongman. and obviously a day janitor type of role.

Town needs to play well and stay hungry. dont get cozy
