Since we do not know how many mafia there are, it does not mean too much that we did not find out his alignment.
This is an absurd comment.

If he had flipped scum we would know the scum have a Secretary.

You don't think that information would have been useful, Bozo?

##CallGM -

If there were a Janitor-type role in the game that cleaned up a lynch, and the Janitor was the one being lynched, would they be allowed to self-clean their lynch?

Huh, that's interesting. I'm inclined to agree that he was probably scum and they cut their losses short.

It especially makes sense if he was not the Secretary. If he were, they'd just have left him to die and give us the victory of removing their day chat.

I mean moving forwards does knowing whether or not they have a secretary really change all that much?

A forward thinking scum team will normally plan out most situations in which they might need to discuss.

I think it really only is a massive help D1

I cannot respond to this question.

Does it actually matter that much whether we know that or not?

Do you, Jamie, when you are town, normally analyze what people say at night differently than what they say during the day?

That is not the question. The question is, if I know the Mafia have daychat, do I evaluate the interactions of suspect persons differently than if, as usual, there is no daychat?

The answer is: sometimes.

These are somewhat strange questions - obviously if we knew that there was a day chat then there would be another layer to reading interactions in-thread no? Not to mention scum flip or town flip or even third party flip does say a lot about possible bussing or not?

Knowing if scum has a daychat is useful for D1 rereads, less so as the game goes on unless the game is full of day use abilities.

Also, no fucking idea on that flip(?). Like, I've not encountered a day janitor before, has that been a thing previously?

Would we have known that if he was not the secretary? That could be considered a scum slip.

I did not say it would not be better to know his alignment and role.

We don't even know if it was some sort of janitor, do we? For all we know it could've been an item

I just mean that I don't read people differently depending on if it's happening in a phase where I know scum can talk or not (ie day/night in a "normal" game).

But also, the Secretary role from M46 didn't allow daychat. It just allowed the Secretary to post in the Mafia QT during the day.

That was probably a result of copying the bot, which did not count BismarckAlive.
