Ooh I like this.
Isn't that true pretty often anyway? Not to be fatalistic about it, and not that town never catches scum on D1, but it's usually a mislynch. The idea that "Sarah is a good distraction" is just a specific case of "town is distracted" which is normal for Day 1.
This reminds me, I wonder why Sumfev townreads Sarah. Don't believe he's given any reasons. @summit question for you.

Kgray, you like it in the sense that "Yes, I agree Sarah is town" or "Yes, she is a distraction"? Or is this more of, just an extension to your scumread of food?
No, I'm not at all convinced Sarah is town. I do think she could be a distraction. But mostly I think it's an extension of my scumread of foodcoats, yeah. I think that the people who started the Sarah wagon (bozo and rdr) have good reasons to want to lynch her, but I think foodcoats was being opportunistic. And the way summit_fever worded that was very in-line with what I was thinking regarding foodcoats.

I don't know how to read her. I did lean slightscum. I am aware she played this same style while townie in a previous game. Anybody think she would be capable of pulling out the same style in her first scum game?

@Chaqa:
@Xorxes:

Is Dargorygel your current top scumread?

If so, please could you explain why?
1) Because Chaqa said he is scum.
2) Because he has talked about very little other than the massclaim.
3) Because nobody else has beaconed me more strongly yet.
What are your thoughts on Donny fishing if you seem to be interested in people fixating on one aspect.
I'm not sure what you're referring to with that. I'm currently leaning naive town on Donny. Always dangerous with new players, but that's where I'm at.

Well Sarah does seem to be trying somewhat... I don't think she's a bad lynch, but I'm willing to giver her a bit more time.

I am giving scum points to rdr and Chaqa for arguing that we should vote Sarah because she is bad-town. I have played scum and 3P more than I have played town on here, and "this person is scum OR bad-town so they're a positive EV lynch" is a great D1 argument that I enjoy employing from those perspectives. :-D

As town, personally, I don't want to lynch any town, and it's bit early to be arguing as though we are out of options and therefore should policy Sarah based on the last game, isn't it?
First of all, the "I'm town so I don't want to lynch town" statement is just gross in general. But also brushing off lynching Sarah as policy is pretty rich coming from someone who 1) either doesn't understand why Sarah is getting votes or is misrepresenting the reason and 2) voted for emc as a policy vote - not to mention the weirdness where foodcoats apparently didn't even realize emc was playing...

But primarily, foodcoats' vote for Sarah is one of the scummiest posts I've seen so far:

I am coming around on Sarah. I saw noobscum cornered this way in a game I played on Mafia Scum. Sarah seems to be spiralling on her accusers rather than paying attention to any other happenings in-game.

##VOTE Sarah
I don't think Sarah was spiraling on her accusers at all. In fact, she had just started to actually engage with the people who were trying to talk to her. I think the random scum from another game is just extra fluff meant to give weight to a week argument. And, I think foodcoats just jumped on a big, safe wagon because it seemed like an easy place to hide a vote.
This is a really interesting case on Food. I had a bad feeling about this post and focused more on justifying my vote and didn't pay enough attention to the vote. Food and Dargo could be two interesting wagons for D1.

Why not? If I remember right Xorxes once said he will use any tool or info that advance his team wincon. It was exactly on a discussion about massclaim or something that could break the game.

I spent a lot of time last game trying to set people straight on my meta. I would prefer not to have to do that this game.
You and worcej were presenting your respective metas in very similar manner: "I always look scummy", "I'm always scumread when I'm town", "that's my towntell", "woe me". I would appreciate it very much if you don't start with that again.

This is the way of flash. It is known. We used it against townflash when we were scum partners a few games ago.

That is what I thought when I read this:

Not sure what you mean. You thought I was townslipping? How could what I said be a townslip? If anything it would be a scumslip because I guessed correctly what only scum could have known.

Or if what you thought was related to what TheMarche said, I don't see the connection.
I meant that it was a "blatant townslip" (disregarding 3P) because the mafia would know if they have a factional roleblock, and that I also wondered if it could be constructed.
Well, it obviously was not a slip of any kind, real or constructed, since I was perfectly aware of the implications of what I was asking, and it is strange that you would think I may not have been.

He coasted early but he does that as town also. It is 1000% NAI for flash and I think experienced people in the meta should know this.

Considering that her particular style consists mostly of evading questions and posting irrelevant commentary, yeah. I'd say it would be pretty easy to pull off that same style.

A mass claim can never break a game. If a mass claim makes the game too unbalanced, the game was broken to begin with, it is not broken by town employing the perfectly valid tool of mass claiming.
