I am giving scum points to rdr and Chaqa for arguing that we should vote Sarah because she is bad-town. I have played scum and 3P more than I have played town on here, and "this person is scum OR bad-town so they're a positive EV lynch" is a great D1 argument that I enjoy employing from those perspectives.

As town, personally, I don't want to lynch any town, and it's bit early to be arguing as though we are out of options and therefore should policy Sarah based on the last game, isn't it?

You didn't play last game... she was not great.

You said from the comfort of the Godthread that she was obvtown last game. It looks different from this side, doesn't it?

I asked about it, and bozo answered, saying that he wouldn't mind a mass, but knows it wouldn't happen so nvm.
I don't see the value of a massclaim. Xorxes, I did find your reason why, but I disagree. Seems to me that it wouldn't be that hard for scum to choose a fake. But they would gain lots of Intel.

Bozo seems to be operating on a revenge motivation. Sarah should have listened last time. So he's lynching her this time.

Town lying in a mass claim would be pointless and counterproductive. Fakeclaiming for scum is much harder than you make it seem.

I disagree that bozo is voting for her because she didn't listen to him last game. He is voting for her because she does not appear to have made any progress since then. Unfortunately, I think it's more likely that she is town than scum.

It seems from your post that you in fact are actually quite keen on a mass claim?

I would support a mass claim, but I'm not going to spearhead it (which let's be honest it basically means it won't happen).

In short, I think it would probably benefit town, but it is not certain enough to be worth all the hassle.

In closed setups there is no point really. Scum in most cases can just truth-claim their role, or might have fakeclaims availlable.

Its always more pro-scum unless it breaks the game wide open and allows catching scum. Which it wont.

Truth-claiming their role mostly takes any power away from them. For example if there's a roleblocker, they can't roleblock a useful town PR unless they want a 1v1 with them. If they fakeclaim, they have to choose something non-verifiable, which may considerably reduce the scumpool. So I disagree that scum would have an easy time with it.

Someone looked this up last game (I think? recently, anyway) and pointed out that for a recent selection of games, the low-posting pool including a significant number of scum. I don't know about PRs.

possible benefits to town:
1. scum can't claim strong town roles at EOD to avoid a lynch
2. scum are forced to either fabricate roles that can't be verified or claim their real roles if they could pass for town roles
3. if scum claim their real roles, they may not be able to effectively use their roles against town
4. if scum have to claim a fake role, they may be concerned about duplicating a real town role and be more likely to claim late
5. fake role claims may seem fake, revealing the scum
6. potential town clears if town roles can be verified
7. town could potentially coordinate roles for town benefit

risk to town:
1. the third party could be like the assassin in a previous game where they win by killing certain roles
2. with town roles revealed, scum can use their powers to minimize the benefit of town roles
