Well this is a massive amount of information
and I don't know any of the meta so I'm just
going to sit back and observe.

Curious why @Donny has started +1'ing
a bunch of posts.
I strongly discourage "sit back and observe." Ask questions! Get people to respond to you!
Seems like good advice which has a townie ring to it.
It's very generic advice that good scum will give, also.

Because it forces scum to come up with lies from the start, which they then have to maintain, probably even before they have a chance to coordinate.
Scum are always lying from the start...

Townslip?
What? How can that be a townslip? There's lying and then there's lying. Of course scum have to lie in the sense of pretending to be town, but that's different than having to make up a role they don't have, or having to decide whether they want to reveal whatever role they do have.
Dude it's cool, I think you are town. Here just to look in my pocket a second-

Mental note: if either brainbomb or fox turns out scum, the other is not.

Even though this soft of whatever it is is obvious as fuck, I doubt teammates would be calling it out and ruining whatever stupid shenanigans the other had planned.
I don't understand your reasoning, Vecna. Jamie and Fox are just wanking.

Maybe I'll understand more as I continue up. Am reading backwards.
yeah this quoted the wrong post. It was meant to quote the interaction between bb and fox on that page (think it was 1 post earlier or later)
I found it! And yeah it no longer seems suspicious now that I understand the context.

GM Note:
The repetition was necessary because our generic rules have 2 spots where it discusses +1'ing and I only edited one of those spots. For continuity, I had to make a post about it because you cannot edit your posts in Forum Games.
I see, yes:

GENERAL RULES

9. All players must not +1 other players' posts. However you are greatly encouraged to +1 any GM posts. In fact, I would say this is mandatory but I doubt most of you will read this little bit in here hehe...

ELABORATION

9. You are permitted to click the "+1" on any other player's in-game posts because I (worcej) think it is fun and it will be interesting to see who reads these rules or not. Giving +1s to the GM is actively encouraged because I like karma. Like I said earlier, should be mandatory if you ask me...
When you posted the third 9, I went back and read the second 9, but I missed the first 9.

But now when checking that I run into this:
ROLE ACTIONS:
If you have any actions to take, please PM your action the GMs. Night actions will be processed at the end of the night and can be changed up to that point. Mafia's nightkill and roleblock will be voted on in the mafia chat.
That suggests that Mafia have a factional nightkill and a factional roleblock. Is that correct, or was that a leftover from general rules that may not apply to this game?
Another good catch. I apologize for my ineptitude - They have a faction kill, but not a faction RB.

Meta reads are a very important part of Mafia. I just wish I had unlimited time to trudge through previous scenarios and tabulate how our resident islanders behaved when they were our brothers and sisters, and how the same people behaved when they were the enemy within. My memory is shot when it comes to meta reads. So, the wily old hands on this lovely island can keep sharing those gold musings of meta folklore while the amazing PeterBot is in iso of its own.
Meanwhile, I like the ongoing analysis of the Xorxes/Chaqa/Nephthys interaction for a possible first lynch vote.
Now, off to my teaching day...
Let's not lynch Neph D1, I feel like Neph gets misread early a lot.

OK, so here are all the mentions of the bot from start of game (unless I missed one, I could not use the bot to find them):

Yea the bot seems to be down. Going to have to play the old school way. I do not envy our GM having to keep track of votes manually with no backup.

I had been skimming mafia trying to see what it was about and saw it pop up plus the thread earlier admitting to breaking the bot before we started.
So I knew the name but not what it did.

I don't see in the setup that mafia explicitly don't have daychat.

brain's comment assumes there is no daychat.

Here's a fun experiment: everyone should guess how many mafia and how many 3rd party they think are in the game. Better if no explanation for the guess is provided.

I guess townslip is the wrong term, technically.

Being scum is a grand lie from start to finish, even if it is more gradations of false reasoning than out and out lying, and even though it may be frequently genuine. I don't think scum would, of all things, bring up the lying habits of scum in the way xorxes did. Scum is too focused on the lie itself.
