There’s a big difference between first and second place, as far as likely quality of your second round opponent, maybe next time their could be a one game playoff and if a tie France gets the higher seed...

For this season, if you want to avoid the tiebreaker, don’t tie, win outright...

I'm confident I will tie Obscurity. This means they're out of contention, even though they're the only one to put up any sort of resistance against Genghiz.

If Goldie wins, he advances to the next round. If I can win despite needing to guess right on "unending 50-50s", I'll cause a huge upset by being the only 4th seed to advance!

Group Stage Tiebreakers:
If the tie is between 1st and 2nd place, a coin flip will determine who is seeded as first for purposes of the second round playoffs (as this is not a distinction worth playing another game over).
If the tie is between 2nd and 3rd place, the player with the better record against the other will progress. If that measure is tied, the player with the better record against the 1st place player will progress. Finally, if that measure is tied, the two players will play one game with randomly assigned powers, with the winner advancing in the case of a victory and France advancing in the case of another tie.

If the tie is between 1st and 2nd and you don’t want another game played, then I think you should at least have the first tiebreaker between 2nd and 3rd place come into play before a coin toss:

“the player with the better record against the other will progress [as the higher seed]”

My understanding was that svkrIs was banned and therefore cannot play, and that this was the source of your joke about playing him. And then I assumed that they'd ACTUALLY advance 3rd place instead of just giving the coin flip winner a free win.
