Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
Well, after 10 minutes of procrastinating :) I got around to looking at the deaths so far and... well, that kinda sucks. Now we've only got watcher left, which isn't all bad, because now if the watcher sees someone moving it's guaranteed scum (I think?), but that's about the only upside. I'll start skimming for things of interest sometime (I remember something about 4 VT claims?) but I may not get around to it for a while.

I concur.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:03 amI think we have a big problem with lurkers. Besides being low posters, bo_sox, emc, Pjandy, sulit, and Vecna said very little that had to do with the game and made no contribution to EOD.
emc was online at EOD but made no effort to make his vote count.

Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
I got nothing. Had a brief look at the 4 vt claims. Didn't like flum's, but doesn't actually indicate anything necessarily. Balki's was interesting, I doubt he's patient zero. Although that may have been the purpose... I don't understand why bunny said it was a townslip though, or why Balki thought bunny scumslipped? I'll try to actually do something eventually. See you guys tomorrow.

invalid vote, the vote for hammering is ##end (sure, I'll see how this goes).Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 5:22 am##vote end
Yeah, we need people to play with a sense of urgency.
I really don't like Flum's answer to my questions. But I agree the lurking issue is a problem. ##VOTE bo_sox

Welcome! First the dinosaurs came, but they got big and fat and died. Then lots of little creatures developed.BobMcBob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 7:45 amAnd no, I'm probably not gonna read all 65 pages. Sorry. I may be a little lurky, a lack of time for playing was the original reason I didn't join. But I'll try... Anyone wanna give me a synopsis of important events to check out? I'll be skimming through the bot, but I definitely won't get through all of it.
now we use some particle accelerators to drive photons into our eyes and make us think we can see inside the human soul.
With this game we probably had a T v T wagon on day one (I was on the worcej wagon, but posted a mea culpa after reading his ISO at night...he may be scum, but I changed my mind for now). Temasek claims he was intentionally scummy, but who knows and lots of people jumped. Temasek was the town roleblocker, so that sucked.
Flum has suggested we end vote more so that we get EOD action all the time. Flum has also suggested he read brainbomb's first two posts knowing he was the town cop and doesn't see a crumb retroactively. Brain was killed last night and was cop, so that sucked.
kgray is an awesome rookie town.
See a few posts up for me in ISO for a summary of brain's ISO.
we have a lot of lurkers...and it seems to be current consensus to get them to stop lurking one way or the other.
Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
What do you think of Flum's ability to claim to read 2 posts knowing the player is the cop and not see a crumb?BobMcBob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 9:57 amI got nothing. That is a good plus. Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
This is compelling to me. I don't think I want to advocate for a constant state of threat by ending to be the default—I think a stable EOD is better than the possibility that game could process on a whim—but one of the biggest problems that detracts from WebDip mafia is that a quarter or third of the game will just not meaningfully participate, especially on day one. Maybe ##END will help change that.worcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 4:25 amFWIW... if you focused on lurkers specifically, these were possibilities:
M53 would've had a chance at 3/4 of the scum
M52 would've had a chance at 2/4 of the scum
M51 would've had a chance 3/6 of the scum
M50 would've had a chance at 4/8 of the scum
So honestly looking at lurkers only isn't a bad idea...

Also, since it's a relevant variable.

By default, days and nights are set to 24 hours long; however, players may instead elect to activate the hammer mechanic. Notate this vote with a pair of hashes before the word end. (EX: ##END). The day will end as soon as a majority of players are voting to endhammer. Please note that a majority of players on the same wagon is NOT required, simply a majority end votes will end the day with the current vote totals. If you are not able to vote before the hammer is dropped, you will not be penalized for failing to vote during that day. Every player must vote end to activate hammer mechanic during night phases.

##UNEND.
We could fuck this up quite easily. If the required number of END votes is reached, with the wagons as they currently are, we would cause a no-lynch.
I therefore think it is vital to avoid a tie if people are throwing endvotes about all over the place. I will ##VOTE BO_SOX to put his nasty little head into the noose.

Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
Bo_Sox has contributed absolutely nothing.
Read this shit if you don't believe me. It won't take you more than two minutes even if you have Bo's level of reading comprehension:

Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
I think this is supposed to be a feature, not a bug, of the theory of throwing hammers around (oh god, don't throw hammers while quarantined!) We have to play like it's EOD all the time and avoid ties and letting the wrong wagon grow.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:46 amWait a moment.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:33 amAlso, since it's a relevant variable.

Also if EMC wants his vote to ever matter, he has to put one out now rather than wait until actual EOD.

Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
This end voting is a mistake given the vote distribution is not considered. It is too easily manipulated by scum.
Anybody not unending I will consider to be a scum.
Happy to vote any of the lurkers.

Re: M54: Not a Carrot Conspiracy
To do my "who is on the wagon" analysis again (but bozo's original tally is no longer so relevant). My own personal take is that:
Fox I don't have a good read on, but jamie and I are town
xorxes I don't have a good read on, but Balki is town
worcej is town, and rdr is probably town.
So the wagon's aren't obviously better or worse than the others.
Should we do Bozo's experiment again to get updated data?
My 5 townreads:
kgray, worcej, Balki, Jamie, bozo
