Agreed, so let me just say this stuff:

I think Temasek is town. He isn't a veteran or someone I consider 'good' - he strikes me as just bad town trying to live. Because of this, I don't like the votes from Flum, Balki, and Jamie onto him because they seem opportunistic based on Tem's omission of purpose, which is very easy to spin as scum. I just think an okay player would crack like this so quickly.

I think the BB votes are also bad, but not really scummy - Vecna and Bo are intentionally absent (based on my own assessment) and Temasek is just trying incredibly hard to live.

The rest of the votes are noise in chaos imo.

The good people of Vanilla Town appreciate the kind words and thoughts and prayers. Our front line workers are racing to airdrop TP in all city parks and other convenient gathering locations. Our administration is doing their best to coordinate a response to a situation that they are totally untrained for and mostly inept at dealing with.

But today I am glad to announce that our response is in full swing. Just last night everyone in City Hall was ordered to our conference room to watch a video on hand washing. The room only holds 50 or so people so it was a tight fit (and that reminds me - shout out to Bob and Sal for the doughnut holes and mini quiches! mmmmmm!)

Sure, we all saw Outbreak, played Pandemic, read The Stand, we've all heard about what they did to the Indians, we've all wondered "What's up with that dude's dad?" in Braveheart, we've all played Ring Around The Rosie and thought "that's a weird rhyme isn't it?", we've all made "Bring out your dead/I'm not dead yet" jokes, we've all seen the film adaptation of Poe's Masque of the Red Death staring Vincent Price, but no one, No One, could have possibly imagined - let alone do anything to prepare for - anything ever happening here, in Vanilla Town.

So, mistakes will be made, protocols will fall by the wayside (HIPAA-SchmIPPA, that's what I say!) But together we will get through the dark night. We will build a new world for all Vanillians! And we will do it in the most human way possible - by lynching anyone who seems a little suspicious!

I’m not sure if I understand the distinction you’re making between “easy to spin as scum” and scum indicative. What is it that makes you think that Tem is “bad town trying to live”?

Do you think that Tem sincerely tried to act scummy as a reaction test? Or do you think he made that up after the fact as a “cracked” Townie?

It's time for me to reveal my cards.

I've played as scum on this site way too many times to still be crumbling under pressure. And in my games as scum my collapse is usually around D3/D4 after successfully lurking and appearing town early game.

Of course, as it's the school holidays for me , I got bored and just wanted to try something out, to try and sniff out scum by faking noobscum and seeing everyone's reactions. Guess what?

4 voted for me at some point, with brain giving the most sketchy reasoning of all. Most ended up focusing more on other targets, so the experiment didn't, really, work there. That said, worcej applied good pressure. Bunny and Flum I actually think are town, and emc, where have you gone? Oh, and we have wayyy too many VT claims at this point too.

As several others have pointed out, this is not a very convincing explanation, and it is not clear to me what Temasek was doing to fake scum in the first place.

Do you town read Temasek for reasons other than "trying to live", because I would expect scum to try to live also.

Temasek's reaction test claim doesn't fit at all with how he had been playing. He got scumread for inconsistent reads, not for being sketchy. I wish he were here to talk more, but I think this is a good bet. ##VOTE TEMASEK

Truly, even after playing Mafia for like SIX YEARS here, unless there's things like an obvious scumslip, a Day 1 vig shot, etc... I still don't know WTF you all expect of me on Day 1.

There's no information. There's no patterns. There's no night-kills or scans.

It's all just he said/she said, loud yelling, and conspiracy. EMC got lynched Day 1 last game not because of anything he necessarily did in game but because he was his usual self and his teammates bussed him. The games before that too, Day 1 was generally a waste of time until a few days later when we can use it against other data.

Bunny, brain, kgray and (to an extent) Flum all seem towny. Very slight scum read on Balki though, I just got weird vibes from his early shenanigans.
