I don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouth but I think part of the reason it’s hidden is that it becomes so active that it’s the only thread that is visible on the home page. And that can be a hindrance to people who have no interest in mafia and can cause them not to visit the forum. I understand more visibility can help get more players, but the flip side is that everyone who doesn’t play mafia and sees all the other threads bumped off the home page will have the same complaint we all have.

Also, I do think we can be respectful enough not to get hidden if we all put even a small amount of effort into it.

I'm not sure if your homepage is different, but active threads don't bump anything off the homepage, except for old threads down the bottom. I can't see a problem with the Mafia thread taking up top slot all the time, all the other threads are still visible.

@Tom, I recall that being a problem on the old forum (which switched over just after my first game) where each individual post appeared in the sidebar, and that one of the touted advantages of the new forum was that only the thread link would pop up, so Mafia would be much less intrusive (so much so that some people claimed we could play 2 games at once! Which is technically true, if not practically...)

Alright I'm out then. Please remove me from the player list. I would encourage others to do the same. Having GMs dictate player content and what is appropriate or not has never been a thing in mafia and should not be a thing now. I will write the council with my concerns on this matter.
