WHEREAS, reavers have press rules, and
WHEREAS, reaver press rules are equally likely to be restrictions (may not use x characters) or inclusions (must use X element in posting), and
WHEREAS, the GM posts violation warnings mid-phase at an unconventional time (not an even number of hours out, for example) when those rules have been broken, and therefore more likely was a response to transgression of posting limitations than a lack of required elements in posting, and
WHEREAS, a rule violation seems to have occurred sometime between the GM post (#539) on page 27 and the GM post (#636) on page 32, and
WHEREAS, we don't actually need to determine these press rules, but simply need to force the reaver to break them, and
WHEREAS, doing so might expose the reaver

therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that all players who posted between kitsune's posts on page 27 and 32 re-post what they said,
BE IT RESOLVED that other players peer-review the similarities of posts in detail (perhaps using a tool like https://text-compare.com/ )
BE IT RESOLVED that mechanically cleared players like xorxes are excluded from this exercise, and further
BE IT RESOLVED that any players who posted in the time frame yet refuse to participate will be suspected of being reavers.

Agree. But it's only dangerous if we townread people for having spreadsheets. What I like about spreadsheets is stealing their data entry to fuel my own ideas. It's not inherently scummy to have so algorithmic a methodology, it's just got some pitfalls if used lazily.

I think it's worth a shot, but overall a useless endeavour at the moment. Like I said previously, there shouldn't be any large scale efforts dedicated to reaver hunting until we flip one. There's simply too much variable to what the requirements are that it's quite possible we're just letting the actual reaver clear themselves of suspicion with the reposting.

However, that being said, we should have everyone that qualifies repost, yes - just in case.

This information regarding the Reaver Posting Restrictions falls inside the closed area of this semi-open setup.

It doesn't seem totally useless. I don't think it should take precedence over other topics, likesay "don't shoot among the pr claims." There are more important things. Reposting could cause another rule violation, which might have consequences for the reaver. We don't even have to know who it is for that to be pro-town. It also gives us two points of contact, which I think could help. I'm guessing it's not nearly so involved as "can only post odd numbered posts" or "timestamp can't have 3's or something." That's be too hard for the GM to enforce.

Looking generates a lot of noise, yeah, but there's bound to be some signal in there.
