Correct! South America is so much farther east than Americans intuition.
Another fun one is first foreign country reached when traveling due south from Detroit.

There are 2 US states (call them A and B). There is a location in state A where if you travel due E or due W or due N or due S the first other US state you encounter is state B (re Xorxes: this only concerns land, not water). What are A and B?

Which reminds me... of stupid algebraic word problems. I mean WHY would I be traveling due South on a train? South of here is wilderness, and trains don't go there. And why on earth would anyone buy 170 watermelons? And if I had THAT many cookies I would not be sharing them, I assure you. And there ARE NO FREAKING POLAR BEARS that close to the North Pole! And of course, WHY would I travel due south from Key West? What would be the POINT?????BunnyGo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 10:46 amWhich messes with American's sense of geography. i like the following riddle:
If you travel due south from Key West Florida, which South American country will you enter first?
