I can't think of any reason you would want to say this if it wasn't true, so I believe you unless someone can think of any reason scum would make a statement like this.

The only reason I can think why you shouldn’t is if assassin target, but maybe there’s another way you can townclear someone so assassin couldn’t be sure?

Isn't this the same thing as Cyan Cat claiming for themselves? Don't get me wrong Flav is the best person Nyan Cat could tell, but I don't think Flav should out them.

I guess I get the extra confirmation and getting it hard from Flav's mouth. But I'd rather it happen and Flav just post a list of their reads with Cat buried in there and not named. This assassin sucks, but I get why it's there.

Okay, to team town....
So we can now conclude that there is no Arsonist in play?
Can we now conclude, due to there being one death, that Damo was one of the three targets of the assassin?
Can we conclude that Damo was town (otherwise why would Janitor cover it up)?

I'd appreciate help confirming the above questions are true. If someone can help me with this reality check I may have more conclusions to add.

First answer is no, Arsonist don't kill immediately, so he can be or not in play.

The other answers are yes, Damo was one of the Assassins target and was killed by Mafia and Janitored.

Simply claiming a role is different than someone confirming you did what your role can do.

I do not think it is important right now to know whether damo was the magnet. We know the janitor activated to clean up the mafia night kill, so if damo was not the magnet, we know he was the mafia NK target or was driven with the mafia NK target. Also, it is possible the role thief has his power for N2.

It's also possible damo was the Bodyguard, and failed to kill the attacker because the attacker was doc-saved by the JOAT. That's convoluted but I think a possible result.

Would we be informed that an assassin target died if the assassin themselves didn’t kill them? Because if not then the assassin not also dying implies that damo wasn’t bodyguard.

No. The Janitor is not informed what the role of the person they cleaned up was.

That's different from last time.

Then the Mafia don't know what damo was unless they stole his role. The Assassin doesn't know which one of their three targets is gone either, which is a silver lining I guess.

So they do have some way to communicate even if not a perfect one.

Yes, damo as magnet does make sense. It would also explain why damo was not very active D1, if he was planning on drawing the NK to himself with the doctor gone.

If this is the case it is a good play considering that there is a good chance the Janitor will be used on Day 1 and it is a pretty good counter to it, but if he were the Magnate wouldn't he want to claim his roll at the last minute before EON to alleviate some of our guessing his roll?

It's not set in stone, Kalel. I still feel positive towards you, it's just that I'm second-guessing myself, whenever I feel so great about someone, it turns out that I'm wrong. I have had no doubts about your townie posts and this worries me. Are you actually town or mafia/3rd party that tries his best to blend in?

That is interesting, even with an anti-encryptor, the role thief would know who the NK was going to be, so they could have taken damo's power.

It's hard to think of a reason they would not use the Role Thief together with the Janitor, since it gives them the best chance for the Role Thief to impersonate whatever role damo was.

OK, I'll start...but I expect all y'all to pitch in too:

My top two town reads (besides Flav...obv town):

1) Worcej. Yes he's distracted with a barfing, shitting, screaming, adorable thing at home, but he's putting in clearly written replies, keeping us from drifting when he can, and is actually trying to help people focus (when he's here). He didn't read my many many night questions, ah well...pobody's nerfect.

2) rdrivera2005. I'm loving the bullshit he calls out. Explains stuff, keeps things on track. Calling TrPrado a tool is bonus points. Was very thoughtful about Flav's claim, the consideration with the rules on lynching Flav.

My top two scum reads:

1) Xorxes. His post N1 posts have been really off. He's searching, but it seems he's trying to cover something, and so keeps saying stuff that makes no sense. I count on xorxes to know what's up, so seeing things like this sets my ears perked up.

2) Kitsune. I'm getting the same vibe as last game. Her "reads" post was <insert politer negative phrase here>. And I've found her disappearing whenever she's made an impression saying nothing.

Not gonna lie, xorxes seems like the tanner to me, he knows what he's doing and he's doing it anyways. Scum xorxes wouldn't just randomly not follow his meta, he always acts as a leader no matter what. Randomly changing that 100% seems like he's trying to attract a lynch

Simply claiming a role is different than someone confirming you did what your role can do.

Yeah, I thought about it. The big danger of a full 'outing' is if Cat is on the Assassin list. It's been strongly recommend to me against claiming for that very reason. Are you not so sensitive to that Bunny? You're plan advocates Flav outing Cat, correct? Isn't that falling into the Assassin's hands, or do you think it's worth it to take the risk that The Cat isn't one of the other two targets?

As a team, we also need aware that if we make too good of use of the Flav townclear then they may NK him. Which would shorten the pay-off value of the sacrifice we forced him to make for us. It might be a good idea to have a couple of other hard (or even confirmed claims) to protect him...
It would have to be one-shot PRs, and then, as usual, I come back to the damn assassin and the advice I was given.

Don't want to say it, but it's needed. I try to avoid bumping into him, but he's still in the game so his input and presence is required.
