Make a case man. Here, I used to teach my students that in a talk you only have time for a few “wow” moments. Figure out what the key points are (read through for feel and not details. Then go back and get the details that will make the reader think “wow...ok...that makes sense”

Okay, so a deep dive on Neph as I try to read his posts in ISOlation and look for hints on what he’s trying to do. ISO as I understand it means I look purely at his posts and ignore what’s being said around him, trying to look at what he’s trying to achieve in each case and come at it all without preconceived notions (like “I trust him and I’m pretty sure he’s town”).

Let’s come at this cold, going back over (oh god) 174 pages of chatter. Seriously missing the abbreviated Werewolf games now, where some of the flares of temper were actually entertaining and at least it was all over soon.

It's not definitely but highly likely, I don't find this community engaging or logical anymore. Everything is secondary to people's egos and I don't find it that enjoyable.

Before the game started he was dubious about playing, and in the early game (knowing his own role) he called out people throwing their egos around and playing the personality game instead of using logic and trying to engage with the puzzle as a group.

Further comments to that end across p5-7 and an early stab in the dark read of emc as scum and xorxes as town. More chatter about past player metas which I remember frustrating me at the time as they were (and are still) so opaque to me (I mean, I get accused of sheeping for following someone else’s lead on how a player’s play now differs to what they did in a past game, but then pressed to form an opinion when that’s virtually all I have to work with? I digress.)

With couches being thrown at EMC (viewtopic.php?p=103242#p103242) and comments on Vapour’s improper thought expression (viewtopic.php?p=103247#p103247) he was clearly having fun on the first day, but regardless of these criminal leanings he seemed more focused on Espresso’s early support for Bozo and called out a possible scum connection here (viewtopic.php?p=103245#p103245).

On p28 Nepthys responded to Foodcoats’ meta-independent heuristics (viewtopic.php?p=103617#p103617) and pointed out that the second (the one about trying to maintain activity while keeping a low profile and not really saying much) tended to be the more distinctive of the two as the first (high activity and trying to drive their pet scumhunting process down people’s throats) is also something town is prone to do for all the right reasons.

He expressed his concerns about Vapour on p11 and again on p28 (viewtopic.php?p=103626#p103626) but noted that while he was briefly the lead wagon, he wanted more time to “figure him out” as he was being sus but not actively scummy.

On p29 (viewtopic.php?p=103637#p103637) he called out BunnyGo for “content for the sake of content” for Bunny’s expressed views on BrainBomb (which from memory could be summed up as “I like what Brain is saying and they way he’s saying it, but I’m worried that he’s trying to lead the investigation away from people he wants to keep safe”).

An early read here (italics mine) highlighting the fruits of his early investigations. He’s largely been consistent here, although Bunny’s growing contributions seem to have won him over to townlean I think (one reason I wanted to see Neph do the deep dive on Bunny, to see if his early concerns have now been allayed). I agree with most of his conclusions although I rate Tem as Scumlean and Fox as Null/Irritating. He could genuinely suspect me at the time of writing, but mostly I read this as “agitate and watch them dance” which I don’t appreciate. In engineering you need to deal with absolutes, facts and figures - ‘I feel’ doesn’t enter into it and ‘let’s see what happens when I apply extra pressure here’ is largely counterproductive.

Tldr - This way of doing ISO is utterly fucking useless. I’m posting this for history even though I know Bunny’s the only one who’s going to read it and I’ll try something else later today after I’ve eaten and actually gotten some of my course work done.
