It's Hunter Biden's painting career x 1000000.

At best a grift, at worst a blatant influence-buying mechanism.

Hard to feel bad for those dumb enough to buy in. Of course, hard to feel good about a president who would issue a crypto coin that he benefitted from personally. It's a wonder how none of this is illegal.

What is happening, to be clear, is that Trump is using US taxpayer's money to buy up large amounts of crypto currency in order to inflate the value of said crypto currency, to benefit himself and his associates who have invested in crypto.

It ought to be illegal. Maybe it is.

By way of clarification: Adding a small amount of crypto to the country's reserves isn't the bad part necessarily. Many countries have already done so and many more will in the future.

The bad part is that $TRUMP exists at all, such that the decision of whether to add a basket of crypto to the reserves is tainted by self interest.
