The person responsible - even though it was a clear joke - would have been immediately banned without discussion, their posts deleted and it's unlikely anybody would have said a thing.

As it stands, we have someone receiving a slap on the wrist for wishing nuclear death on an entire continent, however ironically.

We can take from this that in the eyes of the moderation team, not everyone is equal. They are partisan, with their own subjective biases - and moreover they allow those biases to colour their moderation of the forum.
