No Jeremy Corbyn

#1 Post by Octavious » Wed Feb 15, 2023 2:30 pm

So today it was confirmed that there is no way back for former Labour leader and stadium filler, Jeremy Corbyn. Starmer's coup is complete and, despite everything he said during the Labour leadership campaign, the briefly dominant left wing of the Party seems to have been shunted well and truly into the sidings.

So what happens now? It's hard to imagine that the Labour left, with powerful groups such as Momentum that seemed unstoppable only a few years ago, will meekly accept this new state of affairs. Will we have a Labour civil war? Will we see a split? Will Labour manage to find a way to bugger up what should be their easiest election victory in history?

Keir Starmer disgusts me.

Corbyn sets up a Social Democratic Party and wins back all the Red Wall seats Labour lost?

Jeremy is understandably upset

In all honesty this doesn't sit well with me. I was not a fan of his policies and I believe he did have something of a blind spot when it came to the antisemitism of some of his political allies... but regardless, he doesn't deserve this. And he does have a point regarding the value of democracy.

Both major parties have been extremely disappointing in recent years
