Meanwhile back on the ground, Israel has blocked access to Gaza, including for humanitarian aid workers, and is preventing supplies of fuel. Power lines have been destroyed and water and waste pipes have been smashed. Sewage is pouring into the streets and hundreds of thousands of people are without proper supplies of drinking water.

Israel is murdering these people. This is an act of calculated genocide.

Yes, the Government in Taiwan officially behaves as if the People's Republic of China is just an upstart breakaway political faction. Albeit an upstart political faction that has inconveniently, if temporarily, taken control of 9.6 million square kilometers of land, over which they should still be recognised as the legitimate authority.
