Republican's basically are just supported by rural poor people and the middle class at this point + a few outlier business people.

That's blatantly untrue Lmao. Democrats get much more small donations from. Individuals and Republicans have traditionally always got their funding from large corporate sponsors. Do literally any amount of research.

Both major parties receive massive donations from corporate interests and highly wealthy individuals. The Democrats are just less well-versed in the best way to spend their money. I've had a lot of conversations with people who are very familiar with political fundraising, as well as looked at a lot of financial reports this past election cycle for campaigns in the state of Oklahoma. I'd say it's third parties who are the only people who actually can't get corporate sponsorship. A friend of mine who's big in the Oklahoma Libertarian Party once joked "Can't submit to your big corporate donors if you don't have ANY donors."

Coincidentally, I'm one of the few people in this thread who thinks it's a bit silly to demonize corporate interests giving money to campaigns.
