Trump Disbands Voter Fraud Commission

#1 Post by TrPrado » Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:19 am

Trump claims this was because “despite evidence” states would not comply by giving the evidence that Trump was seeking. Pretty sure everything the commission could legally ask for was public domain though so this is a bit odd.

You can still make it really difficult for people to get information that is public domain though.
This seems like a moderate-level happening. The EO that disbanded the Commission said that the President would be meeting with DHS officials to review the preliminary findings, which implies to me that action might soon be coming concerning the question of illegal immigrant voters - a hot topic for the Trump administration that would fall under DHS purview.

The commission was sued and facing a court order for not letting the Democrats on the commission see information as required by federal laws. Trump's plans to use it to block Democratic voters were going to face judicial review once the information was released.
