These QAnon people are crazy
Yesterday this happened:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/qano ... 49713.html
A couple of hundred QAnon believers turned up in Dallas because they believed that John F. Kennedy Jr. (who, let's just recall, DIED in 1999) was going to appear there and give a speech announcing his intention to be Donald Trump' s running mate in 2024.
Surprisingly enough, the late Mr. Kennedy, hindered by his death 22 years earlier, did not appear.
These people are nuts.

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
I mean, they haven't really gotten as much air as the tea party did, but are they the new extreme lunatic wing of the Republican party?

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
I'm not aware that they have any links with the Republicans other than a feeling that they tend to vote for them. In much the same way that you have a feeling that prisoners tend to vote Democrat, but you wouldn't describe them as the criminal wing of the Democratic party

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
They're clearly not part of the Republican Party in a formal sense, but Donald Trump has repeatedly endorsed them and they tend to be Republican supporters. The comparison to "prisoners" is not useful since prisoners are not an organised movement. It would be more accurate to describe QAnon as the extreme lunatic wing of the Republican movement.

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
Are there any Q followers(? If that is the correct term) who ran for election in the last cycle? And if so, which party(ies) did they run for?
And lastly, did any of them get elected?
And lastly, did any of them get elected?

@ orathaic Many Sundays, UK's Guardian & NY Times's 'Television' story revue leads with 'SNL' opening:
'Saturday Night Live' mimicks French TV's political satire in the great tradition of Canard Enchane; in USA, SNL last weekend had a NY lady ex-prosecutor to a 'T'.
She (the real one) has a show about Legalisms, etc. on Murdoch Fox tv channels, and in the satire Saturday she shouts to invite the latest caricature of the last USA prez.
Reviews state that this caricaturist actor, who replaces Alec Baldwin, offers a lot more, not necessarily red, meat, to Political Junkies, here & abroad. LOL

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
And yes, here's one.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a racist, anti-semitic Republican scumbag from Georgia, who is an open follower of QAnon, won election to the US Congress in 2020:

For the next election cycle:
https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump ... 71c2fcc0f8
Ron Watkins, believed to be a major leader of QAnon, is moving to Arizona to run for Congress as a Republican. They used to call Republicans like that, Carpetbaggers, after the Civil War when they headed to the South to get elected to Congress.
At least 4 current elected Arizona state level Republicans attended QAnon conference:

I retract my previous comments in response to Octavious / Ora.
Clearly these people are, in fact, the extreme lunatic wing of the Republican party.

I forgot Colorado's Republikan Lauren Boebert.

QAnon is just another fringe group within the Republicans like white Supremacists that they keep for the voters.

A 'Dark Matter'!? [interbang punctuation]
BUT ... Justice. Dark Energy, grinding slowly but surely:
The latest prison sentence for a January 6th participant/rioter"
41 (i.e., three years plus) months, for the several crimes patently committed at the invasion of the seat of the Federal government on the occasion of the Congressional verification and acknowledgment of the 2020 election result.

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
Are there any qanon supports on here who'd be willing to talk? I promise I won't judge. I'll go in open minded. I just want to understand how we have two opposing realities and maybe we can come to an understanding?

Re: These QAnon people are crazy
It's jolly decent of him to have gone to such trouble to make his craziness so obvious. If only all criminals took the time to wear a fancy dress uniform and leave written evidence in front of cameras the world would be a far better place.
I like the nod to Austin Powers from the American courts, though. This court sentences you to 41 months in jail and a fine of... one hundred dollars!

In the UK Parliament, the Commons is looking (In Committee) at a proposal to:
Make provision about nationality, asylum and immigration; to make provision about victims of slavery or human trafficking; to provide a power for Tribunals to charge participants where their behaviour has wasted the Tribunal’s resources; and for connected purposes."
Today's GUARDIAN reports that this Tory cabinet plan putatively could allow the Home Office Secretary of State to strip a person of British citizenship.
Will the Rt. Hon. Ms. Patel get her way in this? Is this ... a bit too much ... Orwellian, viz.: Down the "Memory Hole" of 1984?
