Republicains to Ban Immigration

Republicain Presidential hopeful, Michel Barnier, has announced his flagship policy to reduce non EU immigration to France to zero for the length of a Presidential term. Citing "links” between immigration and “terrorist networks that infiltrate migrational flows”, Barnier stated -

"The problems of immigration are not moderate. We need to talk to our neighbours about the Schengen Agreement, we need to put in stricter border controls”

The comments have taken many European political figures by surprise. Mr Nigel Farage of the UK responded -

"Extraordinary. My agenda looks moderate compared to the new Barnier"

France has been experiencing a period of heightened tensions in recent months, with multiple terrorist attacks and increasing talk of civil war. We hope that talk is all it is.
