I am in no rush, plus we need 3 more players, see how it goes, we may just wait.Yonni wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 10:27 pmIm down to start a new game but summer is seriously hectic. Would need a few pauses over the next month so maybe I jumped the gun here. Start one without me now and we can try get another one going next month.
I appreciate a post on this forum asking for a game rather than offering me cheap passports.
I am the G.O.A.T. of press - Any worthy challangers?

You're like some kind of evil Santa Claus.Ginge86 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 2:54 pmMy win rate is 27%, even with a draw button.
I have only played for 1 year.
Imagine when I am as old as you guys.
I will become diplomacy folk law at this rate.
Beware of the anonymous games, Ginge may be about, he knows when you are lying, he knows when you will stab, so never get on his bad side, or he will kick you in the Ab (Sorry, nothing decent rhymed with Stab)

We still need 3 more for the Rumble In The Jungle.
So far we have 4 star performers already signed up.
In ratings order
The GOAT (Me) - 11th
Octavious - 15th
Yonni - 17th
JECE - 727th (No idea how this guy classes as a top player but he seemed keen to challenge the GOAT, I can respect his bravery).
Can we get someone from the top 10, or am I officially the best ranked player on this site lmao
The way this is going, I may be forced to invite someone like Jamie to the game, nobody wants that, surely?

I'm of two minds. On the one hand, it would be satisfying to rapidly wipe the floor with this lad. On the other hand, true justice may call for me to once again drag a game into the 21st Century so that we can watch this chap beg for mercy in 2027.

Other than Octavious, the best overall players who have been active very recently are probably PresidentEden and LeonTrotsky. You could try messaging them.
I am a fairly mediocre player, but still I am overall 110th by GhostRating, out of 1676 players with an overall GR of over 100 who have been active in the last six months. I will join if you want.

If it helps, I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.JECE wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 12:45 pmI'm of two minds. If you think you are up to the challenge of competing with the GOAT, then I can add your name to the list?

Thank you. This helps a lot. It lets us know that you're afraid, very afraid.Ginge86 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 2:12 pmIf it helps, I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. Will the game be posted to the forum so us Guppies who are even lower than Sheep can watch and learn?
Re: I am the G.O.A.T. of press - Any worthy challangers?
I was going to ask the mods that one, will depend on if it is within the rules but I think that would make it even more fun. Especially if there is interest in it.

Spectating games is something that is generally allowed.

There you go lady's and gentleman.
The battle of the century will be televised, here, live on Web Diplomacy.
To book tickets, please speak to admin.
Admin - I expect my royalties from this, I am the headline act here. I want 30%.
We still need more victims for the GOAT!!
Who else dares take the challenge?
Re: I am the G.O.A.T. of press - Any worthy challangers?
I'm interested. My rating isn't exceptional but of the 6 classic full press games that I've played from the beginning, I've won two and drawn four. Also a little busy this summer, and really prefer longer turns (three days per turn is probably ideal for me).

It was a joke dude, the people on this site are smart enough to understand that, we don't need your trigger warnings here palJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:18 pm30% of nothing is not a lot.Ginge86 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:36 pmRESPECT!!!Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:20 pmSpectating games is something that is generally allowed.

Re: I am the G.O.A.T. of press - Any worthy challangers?
I was asking about a more active form of spectating, where we have a thread and chat about the game and strategy and stuff. I know we aren't allowed to do that for school of war, for whatever reason, but this has been the most fun the diplomacy side of the site has been for a while.
Every good narrative needs a villain, and goatman is a lot more fun than whatever insanity is going on in the politics subforum

While I am sure the miserable old fart Jamie will say it is against the rules.Doom427 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 4:49 pmI was asking about a more active form of spectating, where we have a thread and chat about the game and strategy and stuff. If there was enough demand, who knows what the moderators would say.
I however am currently not in there good books, as I am sure you have seen, so perhaps you should approach them with this subject, if enough people want it.

Making the game private and/or unranked may help in that respect, but it seems that most limitations on forum posting are for public press or gunboat games any way.
