Board two folks:

Sounds like Pinecone and Unknown Hero would like two day phases. 2 days for press/1 day for builds & retreats too short for anyone? DSS, anon?
I'm actually fine with three day phases. But yes, DSS and anon would be my preference.
I'm not that picky about the settings other than a minimum 2 days for press and minimum 1 day for builds/retreats. Nothing wrong with DSS and anon.

Ok, I might go 3/1 then, I like 3 a little better than 2.

If one more person shows up, we'll go ahead and lock the games in.

Not entirely following, but it looks like you're just setting up normal Diplomacy Boards but trying to link people of similar rating? I just joined the site a few days ago, and if you need one more for the newbie table I am in. Have played twice IRL and done the no press bot game on this site a few times recently.

Yes, that's exactly the point, matching up players of similar rating - not a multi-game tournament or anything like that. I'll add you to board 4 shortly!

You should update the rating positions before sending out the invites since they're already out of date.

Maybe let the guy who volunteered to organise it, organise it. If you cared so much you should do it for him instead of just being a PITA and making more work for him.

I haven't heard anything from table 4, so to get the conversation going I propose
-- 2 day phase (1 day build/retreat)
-- Messaging: All
-- DSS scoring
-- 15 coins Bet
-- non-anonymous
-- Show draw votes
-- 3 Excused delay per player

No worries, it's cool, he's not wrong - was just in a hurry yesterday evening and it it slipped my mind. (FRC kickoff was yesterday and my brain was full of robots!)

Will do the legwork at some poimt today and see what kind of changes there are.

Hi, likephilshead at Table 4 here. I agree to whatever settings are proposed, I am sure they are fine and I don't know enough about them to hold an informed opinion.

Chill, mate. I already did and posted most of the legwork a week ago.

...and thanks for that. :)

I just did a double check of everyone and while some numbers changed a little, the overall rankings remained the same except for one switch: klaus klauts is now in game 3 and ilovepoland is now in game 4:

Game 1:
1. Yigg - 61
2. Foodcoats - 70
3. Theodoric - 106
4. yoak - 337
5. DreamTrawler - 352
6. KingRishard - 707
7. JECE - 765

Game 2:
1. Pinecone333 - 785
2. gimix - 814
3. cormorant - 876
4. DougJoe - 1,045
5. Wusti - 4,450
6. UnknownHero - 4,491
7. Hamilton Brian - 4,734

Game 3:
1. helloworld82 - 4,870
2. Ernst_Brenner - 6,180
3. ElSaenzGalvis - 6,364
4. stefanodangello - 7,678
5. Hughganought - 12,243
6. DarthPorg36 - 27,604
7. Klaus klauts - 30,706

Game 4:
1. ilovepoland - 30,884
2. Red Neurax - 31,996
3. Alidio - 32,561
4. linmo - 32,940
5. BrianBaru – 33,072

Figure a couple of more days to decide on settings now that we know for sure where everyone is - let's plan on having all the games created by Wednesday.

Speaking of which, if everyone likes, I can create the four games and distribute passwords - I'm running under the assumption that I can create a game and drop from it but the game will still stay created for people to join (if that's not the case, someone please let me know).

I unfortunately moved up a table, but since nothing as been said about settings there either (at least nothing I would be aware of), I again propose

-- 2 day phase (1 day build/retreat)
-- Messaging: All
-- DSS scoring
-- 15 coins Bet
-- non-anonymous
-- Show draw votes
-- 3 Excused delay per player

For no reason I can understand I've ascended to the heights of table 3 as well.
I'm not too worried about the settings, happy to go with those that you suggest Klaus klauts.

You can do this, yes - as long as you wait until at least one other person has joined. I'm pretty sure if you drop and the game becomes empty, it will close out.

Also, just my two cents: instead of numbered tables, there are many rad archetypical names we could give them. "Earth," "Air," "Fire," and "Water," for example; or "Pestilence," "Famine," "War," and "Death." And the never-to-be-overlooked "Fighter," "Magic-user," "Thief," and "Cleric."

Hi! Been away for a bit but I am still down to join game 1.

I am down for similar rules to table 4 (2 day phases, 1 for retreats/builds, DSS scoring, 15 point bet, 3 delays, show draw votes). However maybe we should do anonymous to be safe? I think Theodoric is the only player on the list I've shared a game with but either way I think it would be a good idea to prevent any metagaming.

Wizard, Sorcerer, Magician, Conjurer (Bard's Tale I)
Aang, Toph, Katara, Zuko
John, Paul, George, Ringo

...if I do it, I'll come up with something good.

Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin

30 year war, Crimean War, WW 1, WW 2

(I know that the 30 year War does not really fit, but luckily we have not had WW 3 yet)
