Here is the webDiplomacy mentor-apprentice program you have all been waiting for!
Any questions can be directed to our email at [email protected]

To sign up as an apprentice follow this link (anyone can sign up for this):
https://goo.gl/forms/tHxJMZQ7mKgjAtEO2

To sign up as a mentor follow this link (to be a mentor your regular GR *ranking* should be over 200, categories are irrelevant):
https://goo.gl/forms/XdMDvxfxdQQQJjDI3

Here is a quick guide to being a mentor in case you are confused about the whole idea:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dSq ... sp=sharing

Quick things to note:

This mentor program is NOT School of War, and you have NO obligation to help out your apprentice with every single move of every single game they have. That is a high burden and we wouldn’t ask anyone to do that. If you want to do it, then by all means go for it. But if they ask you to write down their moves for them you should decline. Obviously if they ask you about a moveset they came up with you should give feedback.

For apprentices, this is providing you with someone for you to ask technical and strategical questions to. If you are not getting responses or for some legitimate reason want another mentor, please email us.

Also, if you are over top 200 GR ranking and feel you are horrible at press or gunboat and want a mentor for that please feel free to sign up. The objective of this program is to just make better diplomacy players overall.

If you feel you are qualified to mentor despite your GR (maybe because you’re pro f2f or on another website) please sign up and send us an accompanying email

In the end it is under my discretion to decide if you are allowed to participate in this or not.

Lastly, everyone please thank CommanderByron for helping with *a lot* of the set up here. I’d probably be too lazy to do it without him :)

Hi guys, I'm going to step down from running the Mentor Program as I'm cutting down on my webdip activity. So I'll leave this in CB's capable hands :)

We have a handful of spots open for new apprentices, don't be shy, fill out the form above and join a growing community of Mentors and Apprentices.

I'm restarting this program. From the looks of it, we can definitely use some extra mentors, and existing mentors with open slots. If you haven't, please fill out the form. If you have, shoot me a PM with how many extra apprentices you'd like :)

With a significant delay because I was ill, I have now appointed students to all available mentors. There's some more students though that would love to receive some advice. Please apply!

Even if you don't think you're experienced enough, I have a couple of completely new students that would benefit from your knowledge more than you think.

Just curious, is there a program that does it or do you have to do it manually?

Manually! We match students with mentors based on a number of criteria including timezone and expertise.

Wow! That must take a lot of time. Thank you!

It does. Claesar is taking on a lot of responsibility and he's doing a great job so far.

According to my files, I currently have exactly 0 open slots with Mentors available. That means the next student will unfortunately not be tutored until I find more mentors.

If you think you could handle another, shoot me a message! For instance because your previous student burned down, fell over and sank into the swamp.

I would mentor a new player. I was gone for 3 years but have since returned. My strengths are board reading and move prediction. My weakness is probably in the press area.

I think I've said I can take more a few times, and I haven't been assigned one?

I missed it completely. I assigned you a student some time ago, but didn't realise you could take another. Will update my list, thanks.

I'm short on Mentors again. If you are able to guide (another) new player, contact me!

The 1st guy I mentored is a Pro now. The last one you gave me did not respond.

I am free for another. Also, I prefer my students young and hot.

I'll need to update the questionnaire to ask for age, then. Unfortunately, there are no hot people online. They're all having fun outside.
