Why aren't Italians winning in this case?

I understand that Turks cannot support the attack against their own. But why aren't Italians in the ION after this attack?

Thanks!

That's a good question. The Turks actually can support an attack on their own unit. They just can't dislodge their own unit. I haven't checked the rulebook to get you a page number, but I'm pretty sure that this is the answer that you're looking for.

This isn't the rulebook, but see 6.E.12 from the DATC:

https://webdiplomacy.net/datc.php#section5

https://webdiplomacy.net/doc/DATC_v3_0.html#6.E.12

webDiplomacy is compliant.
