Claesar, I've been analyzing some of Cicero's games and reading the chats. Yours have been some of the most interesting. I sent you a message if you want to compare notes.

It’s franz_broseph and SchmendrickTheMagician

You can tell because the GitHub uses the Game IDs and country.
https://github.com/facebookresearch/dip ... cted_games

So if you played in any of those games, your conversations with the bots are now public
It looks like there must be another user too since franz-broseph and SchmendrickTheMagician only played 28 games between them:

The list of accounts the AI agent played under are:
franz-broseph
SchmendrickTheMagician
DiploMattress
fishandcrisps
small_riot_on_the_western_fron
MisterMiyagi
ambassador1

(from an email I received informing me I’d played in a press game with the AI)

I feel bad for the poor chap who really wants to register an account as the DiploMattress, but won't be able to since the username is already taken.

Amazing! Looking forward to reading the paper(s).

How much investment would it be to get that many gpu cores and how many diplomacy players (worldwide) would join this site as a result?

Are there any other communities/websites involved in similar efforts?
Did this bit also use other websites to train?

Are 56 GPUs required for each instance of the bot? If so, that's a prohibitively high cost. If 56 GPUs would be able to cover many instances, it seems high but possible.

For a standard fee per game it could still be doable.

Not sure that is the model webdip would like to go, but if was literally paying for the gpu time, it might be reasonable.

Lex Fridman's podcast with Noam Brown about Cicero. (The first half is about their prior work on poker. Diplomacy discussion starts ~ 1:12.)

We’re definitely sniffing around trying to find these answers. First step is to get it running and do some experiments, see what the real constraints are, then we can figure out whether it’s feasible to get it in production of if optimisation/moore’s law is the only answer.

I don’t think other sites are involved. The original MILA no-press bot did incorporate data from other sites, but only webDip was involved in the full-press project. (I’m hoping to release the redaction system we built for this project so that perhaps in future other sites can see the level of filtering and white-listing that goes into it; perhaps if they don’t have to do the redaction work they’d be more comfortable sharing data to help improve the AI).

This is the AI user, by the way.
I forgot about Tettleton's Chew, ha ha. Almost fits! 41 games to Cicero's 40.
In other news, doing some digging to try and see if I ever interacted with Tettleton's Chew let me know that Maniac invited me to a game nine years ago:

Oops.
Finally, I get some sort of reply. I can sleep now having ticked this off my outstanding invites list

Eleven years is a long time, Maniac. But I'm up for the challenge. When do we start?
