Claesar, I've been analyzing some of Cicero's games and reading the chats. Yours have been some of the most interesting. I sent you a message if you want to compare notes.

It looks like there must be another user too since franz-broseph and SchmendrickTheMagician only played 28 games between them:Marshal_Law wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 6:39 pmIt’s franz_broseph and SchmendrickTheMagician
You can tell because the GitHub uses the Game IDs and country.
https://github.com/facebookresearch/dip ... cted_games
So if you played in any of those games, your conversations with the bots are now public

I feel bad for the poor chap who really wants to register an account as the DiploMattress, but won't be able to since the username is already taken.

Amazing! Looking forward to reading the paper(s).
How much investment would it be to get that many gpu cores and how many diplomacy players (worldwide) would join this site as a result?
Are there any other communities/websites involved in similar efforts?
Did this bit also use other websites to train?

Re: webDip makes international news: Science!!!
Are 56 GPUs required for each instance of the bot? If so, that's a prohibitively high cost. If 56 GPUs would be able to cover many instances, it seems high but possible.
Re: webDip makes international news: Science!!!
For a standard fee per game it could still be doable.
Not sure that is the model webdip would like to go, but if was literally paying for the gpu time, it might be reasonable.

Lex Fridman's podcast with Noam Brown about Cicero. (The first half is about their prior work on poker. Diplomacy discussion starts ~ 1:12.)

We’re definitely sniffing around trying to find these answers. First step is to get it running and do some experiments, see what the real constraints are, then we can figure out whether it’s feasible to get it in production of if optimisation/moore’s law is the only answer.orathaic wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 8:18 amAmazing! I don’t think other sites are involved. The original MILA no-press bot did incorporate data from other sites, but only webDip was involved in the full-press project. (I’m hoping to release the redaction system we built for this project so that perhaps in future other sites can see the level of filtering and white-listing that goes into it; perhaps if they don’t have to do the redaction work they’d be more comfortable sharing data to help improve the AI).

Eleven years is a long time, Maniac. But I'm up for the challenge. When do we start?Maniac wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 8:43 pmFinally, I get some sort of reply.
