Development Feedback
Re: Development Feedback
well, I do not agree. Have you asked German people? As I said in my first post, I also only realised it recently, but I am neither German nor Nazijmo1121109 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 4:40 amIt's a color on a map. If you try hard enough you can find a way to get offended at any of the country's colors. This is the first complaint I've heard about it in 10 years on the site, and the colors work well for various colorblind configurations so I'm not planning on changing them.

If you try to google "Yellow-Turkey"; "Green-Italia" or "Blue-France", you probably don't get the same result as "Brown-Germany" -or "Brown-Nazi" for that matter. It's not because one hasn't heard of it, that it changes the reality of the connection between that colour and nazism.
Sorry if this is an unpleasant subjet, more subjective than line of coding.
Thanks a lot for all the changes and great feature that have been implemented on the website!
Re: Development Feedback
I would love to see in the personal stats a 2 numbers scoring: a Positive scoring = solo win and Draw + a Negative scoring = Defeated and Survive. You get in one glace how good the guy is

Re: Development Feedback
Whether a draw is negative or positive depends on who you talk to. Also, at least for me, it depends on the draw. A 17-SC stalemated draw is positive for me. A 1 SC survival draw in SoS scoring is negative for me.

Re: Development Feedback
Use GhostRating instead, because a 17 supply center draw against a brand new player is not impressive to me. A 17 supply center draw against 6 other top 10 players on the site however is significantly more impressive. GR takes this all into account.
Re: Development Feedback
If you looked at my GR you would know why I would be happy with a 17 SC draw against new players. That's why I said it depends on who you talk to.jmo1121109 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 11:43 pmUse GhostRating instead, because a 17 supply center draw against a brand new player is not impressive to me. Re: Development Feedback
I totally agree that the value of a Draw is subjective and highly depending on the other players. Nevertheless, Draw and Solo give you points, while survived and eliminated dont't give you any pointsSquigs44 wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 12:16 amIf you looked at my GR you would know why I would be happy with a 17 SC draw against new players. And it's not to replace the value of GR. When I go on someone's profile, I do add Draw and Solo to understand where the guy is along the line of the 50%, you get a quite interesting POV.
But it's a detail !

On the subject of the map, I also dislike the brown and am willing to do some legwork on changing the color if there would be interest in such an endeavor. How many image files would be needed?

Re: Development Feedback
I appreciate the interest but I am not going to be accepting any changes to the classic map for any reason. It would cause massive disruptions to cached files on this site, and the 3+ other sites that use our code.Carl Tuckerson wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 6:25 pmOn the subject of the map, I also dislike the brown and am willing to do some legwork on changing the color if there would be interest in such an endeavor. any possibility for future editing privileges?

All posts seem to be final, there are no second chances, people use quoting as a way to repair their posts, but that's obvious damage control to the public eye
Pretty pls, consider it for implementation, I'm sure many peeps want this

You have a small amount of time to edit your posts before they are locked.Vaporwave wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:01 pmany possibility for future editing privileges?

Re: Development Feedback
Because we don't want people editing out text relevant to the discussion. You have some time to review your work and correct typos (if you're too lazy to use the Preview button), but after that it's set in stone.

Re: Development Feedback
Why is it that now, a drawn game shows the map looking like this?
