You must post at least five game-related posts per day, and vote at least once each day, excepting days which are hammered. If you do not meet participation requirements, you will be subbed out or modkilled. You may not end a non-hammered day on an unvote.

There are 18 players: 4 mafia and 14 town. No players are given special power roles.

Mafia players will be given access to a special Discord chat they can use during nights (beginning on night 1).

Days are 48 hours long, nights are 24 hours.

Game will start on Thursday, April 3 at 10:00pm GMT (5:00pm EST).

POTATOES.

Potatoes will be randomly distributed at the start of the game. They will be distributed irrespective of alignment. The only restriction is that no player will be given more than one potato (either hot or exotic) at the start.

Hot potatoes:

There will be 7 hot potatoes distributed at the beginning of the game. The hot potatoes will be labelled 1 to N; these labels will only be visible to the GMs. Hot potatoes activate at the beginning of the night corresponding to their label. Here is the message you will receive if you get a hot potato:

You have a HOT POTATO. If the hot potato is activated, it has a 25% chance of exploding (and killing you) at the end of the current phase. You must toss it to another player at the end of the current phase. To do so, PM the GM with the name of the player you want to toss it to. If it does not explode, you must toss it to another player at the end of the current phase. (Obviously, if it does explode, you do not toss it.) If you are the daykill, you will toss the hot potato momentarily before dying.

Exotic potatoes:

There are three exotic potatoes: the SWEET POTATO, the COUCH POTATO, and the ROTTEN POTATO. Here is how they work (these are the messages you will receive if you get one).

You have the SWEET POTATO. While you are in possession of the sweet potato, you are protected from any means of killing. You must toss it to another player at the end of the current phase. To do so, PM the GM with the name of the player you want to toss it to. If you are a member of the mafia, you may not pass the sweet potato to another mafia member.

(Also, the sweet potato is consumed [literally] upon use.)

You have the COUCH POTATO. During the Day, you may choose another player to pass the Couch Potato to. They will receive the Couch Potato at EoD. While in possession of the Couch Potato, your vote does not count (but will still be included in Vote Counts).

(Note that the couch potato only moves at EoD - not at both EoD and EoN.)

You have the ROTTEN POTATO. For each phase in which you hold the Rotten Potato, you must PM the GM naming another player. If you die while in possession of the Rotten Potato, the named player will also die at the same time. If another player passes a potato to you, they will receive the Rotten Potato from you in return. You cannot choose to keep the Rotten Potato when another potato is passed to you. You cannot voluntarily pass the Rotten Potato; it moves only when you are given another potato.

In Prussia, Fredrick the Great even needed to come up with a cunning plan to bring people to consider consuming potatoes; he planted them in a field near Berlin, then posted guards all around the field to get the attention of the farmers around. But those guards were explicitly told to ignore any potato thieves, or at least that's how the story goes.

After that time, potatoes became an important food source, and delicious dishes like Bratkartoffeln, Kartoffelsalad or Kartoffelpuffer were created and are since then a big part of European cuisine.

Also, while the humble potato is called "Kartoffel" in Germany, it is better known as "Erdapfel" (Earthapple) [or in some regions "Grundbirne" (Groundpear)] in Austria; which proves, once again, that Austrians have a better sense for naming things, than Germans.

Do the mafia have a factional nightkill?
Do the mafia have a factional rb that blocks passing potatoes and/or exploding ones?

is the cause of death (maf night kill that may or may not exist, hot potato, rotten potato, etc) revealed at EoN for each dead person?

are the potatoes that people were holding when they died revealed?

does the sweet potato's protection include the day kill?

what happens if two or more players pass potatoes to a player holding the rotten potato during the same phase?

does the holder of the sweet potato know when they eat it?
