Webdiplomacy Mafia Olympics - Signups
M1029 - M1030 - M1031 - M1032
Introducing: The First Webdip Mafia Olympics
The Mafia Olympics are a series of four mini games, featuring GMs: worcej, Jamiet99uk, dargorygel, and brainbomb. Players will compete in one of three unique 9 player setups crafted by these three GMs and earn a chance to qualify for the M1032 Medal Game, GM: brainbomb. Game four will be larger and will feature 13 players who can qualify to advance through a variety of categories. The first way to advance is being selected by your fellow players to move on, followed by the GM of their respective game who chooses 1 person to move on. Then brainbomb will select among 4 players across the three games who did not already advance, and provide them an opportunity to play. Additionally the Mafia Kouncil will promote 4 players to act as alternates who can be subbed in as needed, or replace a player who had advanced but could not play. The 4 GMs of this event can also play, just not in their own games. The only person in this event who is not eligible to advance is brainbomb who will be running the final game.
Opportunities to Advance:
Game 1: 3 players will advance
Game 2: 3 players will advance
Game 3: 3 players will advance
4 Wild Cards: will advance from Games 1-3
4 Alternates: will be selected from Games 1-3 to act as subs
Each GM will have their own unique setup and rules, all you need to do is sign up, and wait to learn which game you will be seeded into. You will not be able to join multiple mini games, however you may also offer to be an alternate if there are insufficient players.
Official Setups and details will be provided by the GMs.
Game 1: dargorygel
Game 2: Jamiet99uk
Game 3: worcej
Game 4: brainbomb
Each game is expected to last around a week or week and a half at most.

Re: Webdiplomacy Mafia Olympics - Signups
My setup is as follows:
Theme:
Star Trek, the Next Generation.
Setup: Double Day Unlimited.
2x Mafia Goons
7x Vanilla Townies
Rules:
1. Double Daykill:
At the end of each day, the two top wagons are both flipped.
2. Unlimited Votes:
Each player may cast as many votes as they wish, at the same time.
3. Persistent Votes:
Voting "unvote" is not allowed. Once you have voted for someone, your vote stays on them for the rest of the day, but as per (1) you can add your vote to other wagons too.
Mafia has a factional kill and a night chat as usual.

Re: Webdiplomacy Mafia Olympics - Signups
To give an example of how voting works in my setup, let's suppose the following posts are made, and that these are the first votes in the game:
Damo666 (3) Rdrivera, Foodcoats, Bozo
DemonRHK (1) Bozo
Rdrivera (1) Bozo
The vote count at that point would be:
Damo666 (3) Rdrivera, Foodcoats, Bozo
DemonRHK (1) Bozo
Rdrivera (1) Bozo

##CALL GM
Suppose I roll Mafia.
Is there anything stopping me from spamming the thread with votes for two town players for the entire day?
Is it the Town players' job of out voting me?

You can only vote for each person once.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 5:42 pm##CALL GM

Re: Webdiplomacy Mafia Olympics - Signups
As in, voting for Ghug 22 times doesn't put 22 votes on Ghug. It puts one vote on Ghug that you may not remove.
Voting for Ghug and then Bozo and then Vecna puts one vote on each of them.

Oh man, this looks awesome! If I understand correctly, I can sign up as a sub without signing up as a starting player in any of the games? If so, please put me down as a sub (if not, I will tentatively sign up as a player). good luck to all participants!

You may. Indeed, having a small pool of general purpose subs would be helpful.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 6:07 pmOh man, this looks awesome! Re: Webdiplomacy Mafia Olympics - Signups
In my head I was thinking
Game 1 : Monday July 29
Game 2: Sometime between 5th thru the 8th based on when Game 1 concludes
Game 3: Monday Aug 19
Game 4: Wed Aug 28
but if games end early we can move this around. Ill let it be up to the GMs discretion that when one game ends, the next can start up as soon as the bot is setup for the next game.

Alternatively since there is nothing else going on presently we could start Mon july 22 with game 1 instead.

Scott Hamilton: Oh gosh this is just so exciting. If you missed what sweet and cool just did there, you better rewind on your DVR. He comes into the signup thread and does a triple toe loop salcow followed by an interest to signup for the game and then earns extra points from the judges for not actually signing up, so they did it for him. That is a Gold medal performance right there, and his shiny glittery leotard really completes the aesthetic.
