True. Not all of the players are considering the importance of terrain. Terrain is an important element in board games such as Chess. Tactical positioning can be affected by the locations of units. It is important to remember to consider terrain before making a decision.

Spectators can place their bets as to when black's knight will finally move.

I bet… 2 nickels and a long string that knight will move in 1.23 turns. It will be moved via convoy by the queen, supported by both the rook and bishop.

Yet again, you forgot about moral. Those pawns can get very feisty if they aren’t well fed.

One must consider what ISNT on the board. The enemy will never suspect a flank of pawns crossing the alps, for instance.

True, true. BUT, if the enemy builds a scipio in e1, it’s going to go poorly for the pawns. Especially if the pawns lost their elephants.

neither will those pawns suspect an interstellar fleet blasting them away with an orbital bombardment

They came prepared, with an anti orbital bombardment device

What if the fleet gets support from the queen on b7?

Oh good point, good point. Pulling it back to terrain, the alps are mountains. Ya know what else comes with mountains? Cold? Yeah. Rocks? Yeah. Also dragons. And there’s a rather big infestation right in the way of the pawns, how contrived! It’s be a shame if, by some horrible catastrophe, the specialized dragon killers of the pawns got distracted by a squirrel chasing a comically sized nut…

What if a movie/music fan and a human eating barrel eat the dragons, and blast the mountains away with some vibes?

Last thing I would've ever expected to occur in this game of Team Chess is the equivalent of playing power rangers on the playground in the chat.

Wattsthematter had a winning position when he surrendered, he could have countered with the peanut gambit, and turned the squirrel against you, king o’ pirates. Should have probably made the squirrel a chipmunk, because you have to consider terrain, and right now, it isn’t the ice age, so squirrel has -5 dexterity.
