Is she primarily known for her profession - whatever that profession might be?

Do you mean her current profession, or just anything she's done to make money?

It doesn't have to be a current profession. For example, for a sportswoman that is now retired and does a different job, but is primarily known for her sportswomanship, would count as primarily known for her profession.

The aspect of getting paid for doing something isn't what's crucial to me, if we take Monica Lewinsky as an example, she's definitely not known best for her profession, but she is known best for something she might've been paid for. In this case, I do expect a negative response to the question.

Does that make sense?

OK, thank you for clarifying. Yes, she is primarily known for her profession.

Here's my summary of what we (presumably) know right now.

She's a living American-born woman between 40 and 60 years old.

She is known for involvement in the arts: but this may be misleading.

Anything else we have tried for her fame has failed: she is not known for anything STEM-related, business, or academia. She does/did not have a famous spouse. She is best known for her (current or former) occupation. My question about government, royalty, or television was passed; television seems like the most likely option to cause the pass (meaning that she wouldn't be famous for government or royalty).

So, what is it about the arts that she could be famous for? She's not a journalist or TV host.

Should we just start asking about major areas of "the arts" to elicit either "no" or "pass"?

I think there was an error in an earlier summary. I think we have asked 13 questions:
1. Real human.
2,3,4,10. Female, born 1964-1984.
5. Living.
7. Born in US or UK.
13. Best known for practicing her profession.
8. American, known for involvement in arts (but misleading).
6,12. Not known for STEM, business or academia.
9. Not journalist or TV host.
11. Not married to someone at least as famous as she.

QM, if you count the questions as other than 13 so far, please advise.

I'm struggling to figure out the PASS for "known for government service, royalty or TV appearances." Those all seem to be clear-cut definitions; and the question wasn't "best-known as..." or "currently acting as...". Megan Markle, for example could be considered ex-royalty, but she is still known for being royal. I think there must be a YES/NO answer to that question. We'll see when the subject is revealed.

I don't know why I'm still pulling on this bone, but I will:
Are either of her parents at least as famous, or more famous, as she?

No, her parents are not as famous or famouser than her.

I'll get to the question numbering thing later.

For now, here's a hint: the thing she is famous for is an art. I even found a quote from her saying it's an art. However, it is more typically classified in a different category that is not arts.

Yeah, I think you skipped the "under 40?" question. Including yours, cdngooner, you're now at 15.

Also Spartaculous's question on government/royalty/TV actually did say "primarily known for". If you want further explanation on why I passed, you can always re-ask the question. I don't think anyone has done that before.

Thanks for all those clarifications, QM.

Spartaculous, I don't see value in asking about different areas of art. Anything we would usually classify as art would by definition not fall within QM's hint about it NOT usually being classified as art.

So we need something that she calls art; that the QM says "is an art"; but which is not usually classified as an art. I was going to ask if she builds things, but we know she is not in technology or engineering. Some people classify their sport as an art...

Is she either a professional athlete, or an athlete who has won an Olympic medal?

I actually inserted that language for the first time in my Tank Man round, because I was expecting lots of questions that I didn't know for sure the answer to, but I could make an educated guess on. (For example, I don't know that Tank Man is dead, but I would guess so.) But no one pressed me on that question (which did surprise me).

I already asked a very similar question. Up to you whether you want to withdraw, or are going for slightly different information.

Yes. Very good. And to be clear, I said that it is typically classified as a category other than arts, not that it is not usually classified as an art, if that makes sense.
