Rules

1. There are *two* people to be guessed this round, Person A and Person B. The winner will be the first player to correctly guess *both* of them.

2. Only binary questions may be asked. These questions should be phrased about individuals; you will then be provided with the answers as they pertain separately to Person A and Person B. (For example, you could ask, "Is this person alive?", and receive the answers "Person A: No" and "Person B: Yes".)

3. If a binary question does not have a yes-or-no answer, the question master must not count the question. All other binary questions will be answered and count towards a twenty-question limit, regardless of whether they were designated as 'conditional'.

4. Two guesses per player do not count against the total of twenty binary questions. Additional guesses from a player before the twentieth binary question has been answered will be ignored. Guesses that are conditional on the responses to unanswered questions are permitted, and will be ignored if their conditions are not met.

5. All guesses must be of the form:

Person A: XXXXXX
Person B: XXXXXX

6. After a guess, the question master will either confirm that both persons are correct, or will indicate that there is at least one incorrect guess. (For example, if you guessed person A correctly and person B incorrectly, you will simply be told that your guess is incorrect.)

7. After all twenty binary questions are answered, there are no more free guesses, and five total guesses are allowed.

8. No player shall ask more than two consecutive questions or make more than two consecutive guesses (or a consecutive combination thereof) before another player has asked a question or made a guess.

9. No questions on what relationship (if any) the two persons have with each other will be allowed.

10. The question master reserves the right to relax these rules as the game progresses if, in his opinion, doing so makes gameplay more enjoyable.

Since you are guessing two people, I will spot you a few questions by providing the following beginning clues:

Person A is a real dead male human being born after 1700 AD. Person B is a real living male human being. Neither is a repeat from an earlier round. I believe that both should pass the fabled "dart test", at least in spirit.

Person A: I feel pretty confident that this answer is "yes". I did find reference to him speaking English with a particular accent later in life.

Person B: Yes.

Person A: Ran in the same circles as many political leaders of his time, but it does not appear that he himself was a political leader.

Person B: No.

Person A: Not Irish by birthplace or descent (as far as I can tell).

Person B: Not Irish by birthplace or descent (as far as I can tell).

I suggest some questions along the lines of what these people are famous for.

Why? All we knew about Person A was born after 1700. What offends you about knowing more about DOB?

Person A: Wrote his memoirs at some point in his life, but that was certainly not his claim to fame.

Person B: I don't want to say "Yes, he was most known for being a writer.". But, if you use "writing" in a very, very, very broad sense, some people may use the word "writing" to describe part of this person's activities for which he is famous for.

In the traditional sense of exploring a new geographic area:

Person A: It appears the answer is no, but I did have to do a bit of research here to come to this conclusion.

Person B: No.
