No I think he wants to use the pyxxy pairing to say no this isnt possible to get people to think "oh yea hes right bona isnt scum (with pyxxy) but psychologically if you reach a pair that isnt viable his hope is (bona isnt scum) is the prevailing idea you come away with from it, without trying to force you to reach that conclusion too directly.

flum - bona makes less sense because ghug would be putting both scumbuddies into the usless pool where rdr is dying. and he tries to link flum to eden and not bona.
it makes more sense that ghug fans out his scum buddies in his reads, puts bona at the top, and Jamie way down in the bottom with a very generous protentionist stance.
