We know it's an English speaker not from North America or the UK. That narrows it down a fair amount. We've used 50% of the available questions so we need to be careful.

Ugh, I can’t decide between two candidates. One could possibly be disqualified based on his death year but I’ll take the fall and guess him.
Free guess: is it John Thomas Lang?
