If you are going to vote for me I highly recommend doing it while there are still MKs left. While I think lfischl is the best ROI player, I'd hate to be them from last game.

I've played at least one game as Mafia where I didn't tell a single lie and I bussed multiple team-mates.
Is this like those Diplomacy players who stab you and the try to convince you real hard it was your fault and they didn't actually stab you and they had no choice – and in reality they are convincing themselves because they can't just own up to the stabbing?

I don't think it's the same, no. What I mean is, in at least one previous game where I was scum, I focussed my efforts primarily on either (a) agreeing with the townies and/or (b) pushing and voting for my actual mafia team-mates.

This is essentially an extreme form of distancing, so that, in this scenario, if I get caught first, it's hard to find a connection to the other scum, or, if a team-mate is caught first, I get to look good for voting them, and it's hard to catch me.

I'm over simplifying and I think I only took it to extremes once. I was just responding to HB and Bona's conversation, where HB seemed to assume that all Mafia players must lie - which is not always the case.

That's an interesting philosophical question.

You could make the argument that it is, I guess, in the sense that if scum!Jamie said of scum!Ghug, "I think that Ghug is scum here" then technically the words "I think" are a lie, because actually I would know it to be true, but I'd be pretending that I had deduced it.

However, it doesn't necessarily involve making anything up.

I find it easier, as scum, to focus on things which are true, that's all.

My suspicion is mostly the level of his opposition to the Bozo wagon, to the extent that he really pushed hard to save Bozo. Worcej was scumreading him before that so he might remind us why...

You're making up that you only think it rather than know it. Anyway this is not particularly helpful to the game so that'll do.
