Does the character feature in an animated film?
I can't answer this without being misleading (question not counted)

Hmmm. Maybe partially animated?

Anyway, first appearance in a movie?

Is this fictional creature a fictional representation of a real type of creature?

(For example, a pony is a real type of creature, but the characters from "My Little Pony" are not real).

I don't think that I can answer this question either without caveats.

Let me try to narrow it down:

Does this fictional creature broadly represent real type of creature (even if not an accurate representation of what that creature is really like)?

So, for instance, consider the character Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Dogs are a real type of creature.
Clifford is both not real and is a deliberately exaggerated, unrealistic portrayal of a dog, because there are no bright red dogs, and no dogs are anything like as enormous as Clifford is made out to be.

If Clifford is the character you were thinking of, however, the answer to my question would still be a clear "Yes" because dogs are real.

Can you answer the question now?

If we can't find the type of the character through questions we should focus on the works in which they appear.

Did this character appear in more than one film?

What makes you think he was in any films, when the answer to "did the character first appear in a movie" was NO ?

Ok well that rules out explicitly non-real types of creature such as the Flying Spaghetti Monster, centaurs, mermaids, dragons, manticores, etc, at least.

Are you considering comic books and graphic novels to be part of "books" as in question 9? If no, did this character originate in one of those media?
