No, the category of written media this person is famous for is definitely a book, but I would not call it a novel.

No, the category of written media this person is famous for is definitely a book, but I would not call it a novel.
But it's also not non-fiction, so we're missing something.

I think the clincher here is the difference between "books" and "book".

I'm getting the impression that this person is associated with ONE published work, and not really more than one.

Did he write primarily for children?

(I am thinking that someone who produced a picture book with a few words, aimed at young children, would not be classified a "novelist")
