To avoid going too far down the wrong rabbit hole, let me just say I wasn’t even aware this character ever appeared in puppet medium before this question was asked. Probably still a useful clue though.

Right, so it's not a Muppet or a Fraggle or anything like that.

I'm tempted to ask if it was created before 1250 AD. It might be a character from some kind of mythology, e.g. a minotaur.

Sorry, this is NOT an official question. I'm just asking other players if they think it would be a good question.

Then why not just ask if it's a legendary / mythological creature?

.....although a lot of creatures from myth and legend have some kind of magical aspect (impossible powers of flight, breathing fire, gaze turns you to stone, etc etc) and that's been ruled out already.

The problem with this phrasing is that it may include in-universe legendary/mythological creatures, such as the Chaos gods of Warhammer.

Is the character a werewolf or a character who has met/seen/encountered a werewolf?

No

Hints:
- main character
- useful to figure out original medium or audience
- useful hint that he’s both yes and no a hero

Ugh, the yes and no thing plus fur and other answers had me thinking about werewolves for a while.

I don't think that we should ask the 20th question yet. Probably a lot of free guesses to use.

The Gremlins speculation was probably the closest so far.

(But not the answer)

Oh I've got one:

Is this character presented as a hero / protagonist / goodie?
It’s complicated (both yes and no)
regarding the rule 2, I kindly ask of clarifying this a bit more without revealing too much of course, like is it because of the change of times and experiences of that person, is it part of a soulfinding/heromaking story, is it because people view them different but it's the system that makes them evil, is it something else, that kind of stuff, please.

Just generalize it and it should be fine (I hope).

The character has been in both situations considered heroic and others that would be considered non-heroic. About all I can say about that without giving too big of a clue.
