Also I didn't find any fitting people for Spain because all famous/important people that turned up didn't fit the 'born/death' timeframe we found out.

Yorkshire Puddings
Eastern Canada
Prosecco
Great Lakes
Greatest Lakes
Sons of Vlad
California
I can't see JECE mentioned and none of these team names reveal much.
I don't think the 2022 World Cup has happened, has it?
I am confused.
if it's one of these, it's Luis de Sousa - fought in the Portuguese War of Restoration. Silva Pais was a colonial governor.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 11:34 pmI don't know if it helps, but if anyone know these two and think they fit the description (birth and death were ok the last time I checked), they were the only famous/important persons that I found

But that might be also a problem of curriculum, maybe the target is a person that isn't known widespread in other cultures and only locally known? Like for this timeframe, information about Spain and Portugal are pretty lackluster here, the focused time is more like 1450-1600, then the focus is on England and France, with a bit of Russia on top. Maybe an ottoman sidedish. And a swedish drink. But Spain and Portugal are pretty neglected there.
Wikipedia says he was born in 1644 and died in 1721. That fits.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:38 amI've founded days of death for Luis da Sousa as 12/15 and 12/25, but no cause of death listed
I guess it's as good a guess as any, but what did he do that was considered really big and why would the far-right want to have a film made about him?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 11:30 amWikipedia says he was born in 1644 and died in 1721. I am not entirely sure if a poet and writer can be considered somebody often portrayed with a sword. It's rather counterintuitive.Hamish wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:53 pmI guess it's as good a guess as any, but what did he do that was considered really big and why would the far-right want to have a film made about him?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 11:30 amWikipedia says he was born in 1644 and died in 1721. Think major victories (or catastrophic defeats depending on your perspective).Bonatogether wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:19 amwho would the far right want to have a movie made about

@JECE - I think this is simply far too obscure. We don't know it.JECE wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:30 pmThink major victories (or catastrophic defeats depending on your perspective).Bonatogether wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:19 amwho would the far right want to have a movie made about

the guy we guessed was apparently the main Portuguese general in the Restoration War (the war the portuguese far right would love), and the Spanish have exceptionally big battles they win in this time. did some wikipedia searching and didn't find anyone, but not finished
