…Byz never really expresses an opinion of Sabi’s alignment. Yet Byz speaks with almost implicit and assumed trust that Sabi is on his team. Byz is now outright sheeping Sabi onto damo, having expressed no opinion on damo or Sabi prior to now which would make sense of that decision. Why is that?
Obviously, their out-of-game familiarity has to be considered. Sabi invited Byz to play here, and aside from Bona, Sabi is the only player here that I believe Byz knew before the game. So you’d expect some camaraderie and lessened suspicion to start.
But Sabi has been under some scrutiny this phase (albeit mostly about play style and not alignment
per se). Byz didn’t address any of it. Byz hasn’t ever given a read on Sabi one way or the other.
I don’t know that any of this reflects on Sabi necessarily, but it’s a very curious progression by Byz.

I know this will sound hollow, but making yourself easily townreadable is actually the single most important thing anyone can do in this game. The only info each townie has is which side they’re on, and the townies win every time if they can all identify who is on their side. So making it clear that you’re town is the #1 goal, way more than all the glory hog stuff like catching mafia or using any powers from your role effectively or any of that crap. Just being genuinely you and letting people see that you’re town because of it is the goal.
But isn’t playing a good scum game about being as close to your town-self as possible?
And so isn’t the meta strategy to have these two selves overlap quite a bit so that you can play whichever side you are?
Unless you consider the fact that one will much more often be town than mafia (unless you’re Celaph) and so we should all be overlapping with a weight towards true town behavior. Idk just stuff I’m been chewing on since I played so poorly in the last game :/
Closely mirroring your town self can sometimes be a good avenue to winning as mafia, but it’s not the goal unto itself. After all, if your town self knew the mafia team, you’d be running them all up, but you don’t want to mirror what your town self would do in your situation to that degree!
Mafia play is really amorphous if you’re actually playing the role to its full potential… you are basically reacting to whatever the town is doing, and trying to steer them away from the right answers just long enough to win. Sometimes that means “going deep” and working really hard to get townread and even sacrificing your teammates as necessary. Sometimes that means getting your hands dirty and being under the gun all game or perhaps even going down, for the sake of setting a narrative that benefits the rest of your team.
You obviously don’t want to be too wildly divergent from town to mafia play lest you get caught every time, but there’s a ton of nuance to how much you lean into expectations set for your town play and how much you do other stuff.

I dont know how else to react to this. It is a problem with my personality rather than my ability to play the game. Self-control on my flippant tendencies is really really hard.
My issue with the posts like this is that I don't believe they're genuine. Too many people have pulled this playstyle in the past, including myself, Sabi, and others, so while it may be genuine, I'm not really willing to just accept that outright.
