Twenty Questions - Game XXXVIII

#1 Post by Ferdack » Thu Jul 21, 2022 1:21 am

Rules:

1. Only yes/no questions may be asked.
2. If the answer is unclear, question master must clarify why.
3. One guess per person does not count against the total, but additional guesses by the same person do. After all 20 questions are up, three total guesses are allowed.
4. Please choose people from history, or movie/TV/literary/video game chars/etc. characters that, if you were to throw a dart out the window, at least 50% of people hit would know this character.
5. Whomever guesses correctly takes over from the previous question master. If they do not want to do it, they may choose who to pass the duty onto or just give it to the first volunteer.
6. If the question master remains undefeated three times in a row, on the third time they must either pass it to a person of their choice, or the first volunteer takes over.

I will be very busy these days and probably won't be able to reply to questions in a timely manner--choose your questions wisely!

There's only one logical choice to go for if you're worried about being too busy...

Is it Robert the Bruce?

At least you're specific about what you mean by "arts".

1. Real dead person
2. American
3. In the arts field, but those categories mentioned(Artist/Author/Actor) are not what this person is most known for
4. Died after 1/1/1950

Incorrect guesses: Robert the Bruce (Octavious). Thank you damo for the reminder that this wasn't a question.

It would not be entirely accurate to use the word "single", but yes, this person was musically active during that time.

Also we haven't had someone ask male/female yet. Would you like me to answer this and count it as a question?

The lack of a single implies to me that this person was not in pop music. That's not a question, just a musing.

So, was did this person write musical theatre?

If they were I'm guessing Sondheim (unless person isn't male).

If they were not in Musical theater, my question is "Is this person famous for playing music (as a singer or using instruments as opposed to composer/song writer)?

Note that Sondheim was already in a game. No rule against reusing someone I guess so it's possible, but FYI.

Question - Was this person best known for being in a band or other group? (as opposed to as an individual or solo act)

Oh, thanks for the heads up! That's what I get for not checking the forum enough. I'll take away my guess then
