1804 was a significant year for Aaron Burr, the U.S. vice president at the time, and Alexander Hamilton, one of the "Founding Fathers", for in that year they fought a duel, the culmination of a bitter personal rivalry. Alexander Hamilton was killed.

Due to the irrelevant post for this forum game, I will do two years, to right ourselves with the post number

1807 - February 7 – Napoleon leads the forces of the French Empire in an invasion of the Russian Empire, and begins fighting at the Battle of Eylau against Russian and Prussian forces.

1808 - The importation of slaves into the United States is banned, as the 1807 Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves takes effect

In 1809 the Post Office is created in Australia - run by the convict Isaac Nichols out of his home. Lachlan Macquarie is also appointed Governor of NSW and has orders to reinstate Bligh (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) to his rank.
Octavious is an hypocritical, supercilious tit.

Andreas Hofer, innkeeper, militia captain and leader of the Tyrolean Rebellion against the Napoleonic and Bavarian invasion, was executed by a firing squad on 20 February 1810 in Mantua. He refused a blindfold or to kneel. Hofer is still today venerated as a folk hero, freedom fighter and Austrian patriot.

1812 - Napoleon launched his disastrous invasion of Russia. Sadly it is very hard for France to invade Russia (unless he is about to solo), and this was no exception. Due to starvation, his units disbanded in Winter, and he was forced to Retreat.

1813 October 16–19 Battle of Leipzig: Napoleon is defeated by the forces of the Sixth Coalition. More than 600,000 troops are in the field, with well over 10% killed, wounded or missing. This is the beginning of the end for the Corsican.

1816- The Treaty of Munich (German Vertrag von München) of 14 April normalized relations between the Austrian Empire and the Kingdom of Bavaria through several territorial exchanges. In particular the duchey of Salzburg (the Prince-Archbishopric of Salzburg lost Independence and was secularized during the Napoleonic wars) became part of Austria. The borders as set in the treaty are the same as today's.
