I think it's not inconceivable that one could get a miskill on you or Balki. Kgray and myself where giving you a hard time for your reads while Balki hasn't looked great most of the game.

I think it's also a little weird that aaro is the only one getting scum read for this. Both flum and myself also expressed surprise earlier. Using this to justify an aaro scum game strikes me as more conf bias than a stand alone argument.
Who said I was scumreading him for it?

I concede that in the scenario where Balki was the priest then perhaps I may have been daykillable, but I'd still like to know just who he expected to die instead (apparently nobody)
I never said you scum read aaro for it. I was responding to your argument about aaro's thought process and it happened to be a convenient place to stick a point about people (primarily ghug I think) scum reading aaro for it.
I'm scumreading aaro because he reacted weirdly to the flip, not because of the logic HR was talking about in that post.

Tbh I think it has to be a new player at this point, so we should be killing among aaro, celaph, kgray, and bona.
If we're voting people off for thinking Balki was PR, then I was guilty 2 nights ago though much less certain once he retracted his claim. Perhaps I just wanted HR gone.

Unrelated, but I'm really starting to see why people like hammers. These slow days have totally zapped my motivation.
We are not voting based on who thought Balki was a PR...

Why do people always waste time on silly "scumslips" when there are people out here using periods in place of question marks with reckless abandon?

Yes, and I don't see why you think that's scummy. Because when I saw Balki's flip everything made sense, so I feel like his reaction is similar to mine. Why do you think aaro wouldn't have figured out what Balki was doing once he saw the flip?

You think he meant "wait how did my NK go through, I was certain HR was the priest and would save Balki"? Or "wait how did Balki trick me, I was certain he was the priest who couldn't save himself and that's why I killed him"?

Like, seriously. I'm not going to pretend I'm good at or really care about mechanics, but this is what, my ~10th game here? And I didn't get Balki's play either. You're going to scumread a brand new player because he didn't instantly understand what was going on?

I've gone over this with him already, but here's the gist:
  • aaro has no fucking clue what Balki is doing
  • Balki flips VT
  • People start reacting. Flum and I think it's hilarious that Balki actually baited a kill (something consistent with our previous takes on Balki and our not wanting to kill HR). HR thinks it's funny he's not dead. Celaph says that all the priest noise worked better than he expected. Chaqa yawns because he stayed up too late playing Among Us and planning Chipotle dates with imaginary partners.
  • Aaro reacts like Flum and I did, instead of saying "wtf I thought he was going to be priest or scum.
  • aaro's reaction also just doesn't pass the town organicity smell test. This bit I don't really expect people to follow, but I feel it strongly in my bones.

No, I'm going to scumread him because he imitated the reactions of the people who did instead of blissfully acknowledging his surprise and confusion.

I might also scumread him a little just because I think people who didn't understand were more likely to kill Balki, but there are WIFOMmy reasons not to bank on that logic too much.

Okay, but all I'm saying is I think aaro and I were thinking similarly pre-Balki's flip, and I didn't react saying "wtf I thought he was going to be priest or scum" so I don't think that makes aaro scummy. And if you're concerned that he mimicked you and Flum, I think that's just because he realised what Balki was doing based on Balki being VT and your's and Flum's reactions.

If you feel it in your bones, then I won't argue with you on it. I still feel like he was towny D3, and I don't think he's scum. But I could be wrong.

Good thing we have that thing Chaqa invented, where we each get a say in who dies.

But why is that scummy? Why does scum do that, instead of acknowledging surprise and confusion? Wouldn't scum be *more* likely to play up being confused as to why Balki's gambit worked?

Wait. Never mind. I just re-read this, and I'm not making sense.

I see your point. Scum wouldn't want to admit they didn't know what Balki was doing if they were really tricked by Balki.

Okay.

No, I get what you're saying.

I was even kinda taken by your argument that his reaction mirrored how you felt, but then I went and found your reaction. You said "Oh. Okay, I get it now. Sorry Balki.
