Regardless of his alignment, I think he did know what "goon" meant in a mafia terminology sense (he'd used it correctly before) and that was what he was referring to. I think he just panicked when people reacted so strongly and quickly to that word, and if he were town he wouldn't have any reason to lie about what he meant by it. It's not the most incriminating evidence but I don't think it's townclearing at all.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:12 pmWhy would he use "goon" that way if he knew too much in the first place, though? If he's scum, I can't see him not saying that intentionally to fake a townslip, and if he was faking a townslip, he would have had an answer ready.kgray wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:07 pmI'm still conflicted about this. I don't think he was being honest about using the term "goon" to refer to a general bad guy and not a non-PR scum role. That explanation really feels like he thought he was caught knowing too much and panicked.
And, one thing that I think is odd about bona is his focus on people's reads of him. I think it feels more like a paranoia about being caught than a paranoia that he's being manipulated, which was mostly what I felt in my first game.

If he was scum, he definitely knew Jamie wasn't a goon.kgray wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:24 pmRegardless of his alignment, I think he did know what "goon" meant in a mafia terminology sense (he'd used it correctly before) and that was what he was referring to. Yes I know, that's why people are questioning if it was a fake townslip... I don't have any opinion about whether or not that slip was forced or not. I just think the way he reacted was suspicious.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:26 pmIf he was scum, he definitely knew Jamie wasn't a goon.kgray wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:24 pmRegardless of his alignment, I think he did know what "goon" meant in a mafia terminology sense (he'd used it correctly before) and that was what he was referring to. @kgray
Aside from his reaction to my claim, what do you think about celaph in general?

Oh. That's a good point. I'm not sure.

I just started going through his ISO now. From memory, overall I've thought he seemed pretty bold and confident, even though he's not a prolific poster, and he doesn't feel like he's hiding anything.Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:29 pm@kgray

I also think Bunny feeding him that "townslip" looks good for him, despite my initial suspicion, because it would just make celaph look too shady if Bunny flipped first especially in a game with a coordinator.

Do you still think that if you consider than Bunny's D1 bus looks like he was trying to set himself up as the scum deep threat, though?kgray wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:32 pmI just started going through his ISO now. I think kgray just forgot scum got to chat pregame, which reflects pretty well on her.
Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
I guess this could be a fake slip, but I feel like Bunny probably told scum in the pre-chat that he knows aaro.
Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
Yes, I still think it's a pretty risky move, and I don't think scum would decide one person is going to be a deep threat that early in the game. Too much can happen.Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:34 pmDo you still think that if you consider than Bunny's D1 bus looks like he was trying to set himself up as the scum deep threat, though?kgray wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:32 pmI just started going through his ISO now. To be fair, when bunny voted teacon, it looked unlikely teacon would get the votes. And he was away at eod.

I mean, Teacon didn't actually get the votes.

Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
I am also going back through celaph's ISO, and I've so far noted that celaph hedged a possible scumread on teacon D1 and also brought up a willingness to get Yoyo D2 without voting for either of them. I also don't really like that Bunny repeatedly went out of his way to interact with celaph but that celaph never once reacted in kind - I feel that a newbie playing his first game here would be more interested in developing a relationship there.
I also find his hypo-jails to be very problematic and somehow that's never come up (why on earth was he picking Bona N1 and Vecna N2 when he hadn't given a read of any sort on either of them?). The fact that giving those hypojails was the only comment whatsoever that he made in the ~24 hours between Durga claiming and Durga revealing her second guilty was on Bunny looks very much like someone ducking under the radar, too.
I also note that very early on when he talks about his style of play, he suggests that he finds scum via PoE - Something which I haven't seen him attempt at any point in this entire game.

Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
If there was a pregame thread, it's possible they planned some stuff, but scum usually don't want to be performative because it's much more likely to backfire and look obvious.
I'd expect Bunny was just trying to get on the good side of a new player instead of a prearranged distance play.
Although Bunny would be the type of scum player to try to arrange something like that.

If there was one word I'd use to describe Bunny last time I saw him with a QT (M57), it'd be performative, tbh.Fluminator wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:43 pmIf there was a pregame thread, it's possible they planned some stuff, but scum usually don't want to be performative because it's much more likely to backfire and look obvious.
