That is one of the reasons why, after buckling and looking super scummy under questioning, it is then even more scummy that Temasek suddenly claimed it had all been a reaction test, like a fifth-rate soap opera character suddenly waking up and saying "it was all a dream!".

I was responding to what you said. I skimmed over Temasek's posts, like I did all of Day 1, but I can't say I recall much of it. I don't put much stock in day 1, never have. Temasek's reaction was weird, but I can't say it's scummy for sure.

I'd vote for him, but I'd vote for anyone who isn't me today.

I think anchoring a vote D1 is a "whatever" move. It's annoying, but probably NAI. I think not knowing when the day ends in the same post that you insist you know when the day ends is a little weirder. I think his posts have had near zero content per post; and that's the most worrying.

I'm not complaining about the initial vote. That's not a problem. The problem is letting it sit even when there are better places to put it later. It smacks of trying to see what you can get away with (not even getting away with a mislynch, just getting away with not doing anything to draw attention, not doing anything that's helpful VCA later, etc).

I think my attention to your vote is biased because it's on me. I think there's an objective assessment of why your placed your vote and what a reasonable player would have done afterwards when the conditions behind that vote changed that would conclude that you have been inconsistent.

The good people of Vanilla Town appreciate the kind words and thoughts and prayers. Our front line workers are racing to airdrop TP in all city parks and other convenient gathering locations. Our administration is doing their best to coordinate a response to a situation that they are totally untrained for and mostly inept at dealing with.

But today I am glad to announce that our response is in full swing. Just last night everyone in City Hall was ordered to our conference room to watch a video on hand washing. The room only holds 50 or so people so it was a tight fit (and that reminds me - shout out to Bob and Sal for the doughnut holes and mini quiches! mmmmmm!)

Sure, we all saw Outbreak, played Pandemic, read The Stand, we've all heard about what they did to the Indians, we've all wondered "What's up with that dude's dad?" in Braveheart, we've all played Ring Around The Rosie and thought "that's a weird rhyme isn't it?", we've all made "Bring out your dead/I'm not dead yet" jokes, we've all seen the film adaptation of Poe's Masque of the Red Death staring Vincent Price, but no one, No One, could have possibly imagined - let alone do anything to prepare for - anything ever happening here, in Vanilla Town.

So, mistakes will be made, protocols will fall by the wayside (HIPAA-SchmIPPA, that's what I say!) But together we will get through the dark night. We will build a new world for all Vanillians! And we will do it in the most human way possible - by lynching anyone who seems a little suspicious!

My initial thought, having played many games with them -

I'm surprised that xorxes and rivera would vote for me for playing how I always do. Seems disingenuous. Not to OMGUS, but I could easily see one or both of them as scum.

rdr strikes me as typical, but I am also noticing a shift in xorxes. Do you think this change is intentional?

@Chaqa, I also do not put much stock in Temasek's inconsistent reads. I think that town might be more likely to be inconsistent in their reads, as mafia are likely working harder to be consistent and coherent.

What seemed alignment indicative to me about Temasek was the story he told about purposefully trying to act like scum, and then analyzing the people who read him. It sounded made up. And it seems more likely that scum would make up that story than town would do so. Thoughts?

Re Xorxes and Rdrivera, I see what you mean there. But also...parking a vote on Chaqa out of annoyance or "better to lynch a lurker if we're really not sure" is towny in the sense that it's not making a big show out of trying to fabricate a scumhunt. I find that the lower effort vote parking might even tend towards towniness, more often than not, as it is not an effort to blend in.

I would agree in some cases but xorxes and rivera are not ones to usually do this.

But personal attacks will make people less likely to engage with you (counterproductive) and just generally make the game unpleasant. Sorry guys, I appointed Bob as director of emergency vote submission - he's usually one of our top municipal administrators, and like I said he always brings doughnut holes to the meetings.
