A musician who isn't a singer, doesn't play an instrument, and isn't a composer?

I think this is seriously pushing the boundaries of "musician" in that case.
I didn't say he didn't play an instrument, in fact I answered yes to keyboard. I qualified the answer by saying he is not PRIMARILY known as an instrument player.

I didn't say he wasn't a composer. You asked was he most famous as a composer to which the answer is no. The answer to 'was he a composer' would be 'yes'.

It must therefore be a conductor, yes?
Yes he was a conductor much as he was a composer/instrumentalist.

No. I would say he is principally known as a keyboard player.

Yeah, the summary doesn't note that but I just realized that a previous post did and was going to delete it but you had already replied. :(

I'm puzzled as to how it can be someone who was a composer, conductor, and instrumentalist, but not most famous for any of those things, whilst also not being a writer or actor.

I wonder if it's someone best known as a producer. Hmmm.

Yes.
Although he was a composer, conductor and played keyboard and oboe the word most people would associate with him is producer. And probably arranger before the others.

I thought I was gonna get that through.

Well done Jamie.
